I'm sure you lovely lot can help me - it seems I'm looking in the wrong places for this.
I am looking for about 25 small jam jars, about 200ml. I have looked on line at Amazon, E Bay and Jam Jar Company but can either find them at very expensive prices + expensive postage or a reasonable price but far too big an amount.
I want them to put chutneys and jams in to make hampers for Christmas - I have spent all year making these and all been very MSE, but now it seems the jars are going to wipe out all the hard work!
Please can anyone give me ideas?Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Whereabouts are you Robsmum? I have quite a few spare jars I could pass on if you can get to Yorkshire. Might possibly have to buy new lids though but you can get those at Lakeland (as indeed you can get jars but that defeats the object).0

The jars I bought were Sainsburys Basics Curry Sauce and at 9p per jar were a steal just for the jar (the sauce is OK though so nothing gets wasted) the only downside these are I think twice the size you were looking for but it might be worth considering these if you're desperate.

Have a look at supermarket value sauces and jams. Often they are so cheap that you can bin the contents and use the empty jar
(although it grieves me to be so wasteful). Even better some of the jams have absolutely plain white lidsIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Robsmum I have had this site recommended:

Although so far I haven't needed to use it myself
How have you managed to make chutneys etc without anything to put them in?0 -

I got a threat warning from webshield when I clicked on the Ascott link. File infected with a Javascript exploiter, apparently. Be careful!0 -
Thanks for the warning greyfox. Nothing comes up for me, it is a legitimate site with items for smallholders etc0

That made me Laugh! I should have explained that whilst I was buzy making all these, I hadn't planned that far ahead and just put it in jars. I only decided last week that I wanted to do hampers and don't want to give all my hard work away!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
