  • All your crissy pressies eh! Well done you!

I bought one when I was in Brighton last month - but only because that's where the shop is, and I didn't want to pay postage by ordering it in December.

Other than that - nada! I think I might try and make presents this year!

I made a sock monkey for bf's mum's birthday today... she did ask for one though, so I suppose that's OK. At least it's meant to be a monkey, but it looks more like an alien!!!!

Everyone has been so productive today - I managed shopping, washing and sock aliening. Not a single thing else :)

Haven't made any progress with the housework :o but I have been and served about a million hotdogs and burgers at the fireworks, and done a bit of planting. Oh... and made some stewed apple... although there is still more to do...

Packing is going slowly. I need to iron two shirts, dry and iron another top and then make a decision as to which shoes to take  So far I have six pairs... not including whatever I'll be wearing on the plane (well, I need different ones for the evenings... ) Four one travel day and four conference days I've put out:

One pinstripe jacket with dress, trousers and skirt
4 cardigans (grey, red, purple and black)
One top (pink) - ok so I need to dry and iron one white top and two white shirts
1 pair black tights, 1 pair red tights, 1 pair purple tights, 2 pairs nearly black tights (well, you never know when ladders will appear!)

Work bit of the evenings is business casual... not sure what to do about that and would welcome advice. I thought I might take a couple of jersey dresses - I have a black and white one I can wear with a little wrap cardi that ties under the bust, and a brown one that I can wear with a long cardigan. The only problem with taking the brown dress is that it means an extra pair of shoes... (talking of which, my list currently includes 7 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of boots... I think I might need to cull it :o). I'm also taking a pair of skinny black jeans to wear with a stripy dress, and will probably wear jeans and something reasonably smart to travel in. I also need to fit in my swimming and running gear, and of course my laptop, headset, notebook and pens :D

As always, its the non-work clothes that provide me with the challenge!

Wish I could MG, but I still haven't got on it yet - you emailed the web angel but I haven't heard anything since:(

I'm in the same position, Tenmah. I realise that MG and her team are very busy, but it'd be nice to get in and see what they're all up to over there.

It's great to hear the various success stories this week, but I'm also thinking about those who aren't doing so well. Hugs to them.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me solve a mystery that's been bugging me. Why is it that I could've achieved so much towards my admittedly vague challenges this week in 15, 10, even 3, 2 or 1 min bursts (there was a fantastic post a few pages back listing how long it actually took to do some of those much dreaded and put-off tasks – wish I could find it again) when I found plenty of time to read the first 100+ pages of The Secret in one go??? Hmmmm

One of life's mysteries suki! :rotfl: Perhaps say to yourself 'I'll read the Secret for 15 minutes after I've done 15 minutes towards my challenges'?

I was one of the people who wrote about timing activities I think - it was me who timed hanging the washing up and it took me less than 3 minutes! :rotfl: I haven't moaned about it since, I reckon I can manage 3 minutes without moaning :D (even though in reality I could *moan* about hanging the washing up for *much* longer than 3 minutes!) :rotfl: :D

Don't beat yourself up about what you haven't done - make a plan, split your challenges into mini tasks, then every time you read the secret for 15 minutes, put it down and go and do one of them! :j

Hey all, well worked in my (very busy) shop today then came home and

    Took out my bins
    Hung up clean shower curtain
Threw out a few old bits in wardrobe
    Folded all clean clothes
    Dusted
    Done dishes
    Made risotto

Sitting watching X Factor now. Knackered again but great day, real buzz in the shop. X

Greenbee, go for the black and white dress and no more shoes...you really shouldn't take more than 3 pairs really.

Because reading The Secret is so absorbing, and so real, and so personal, and you have to read it to realise what you can achieve, including all those mini-challenges and stuff. The Secret is starting to be the backbone of what we are all trying to achieve. Ask the Universe :T

Can someone ell me, what is a sock-monkey and a TADA please?????????????
I have a TADA on my phone, sort of like a mini drumroll (text alert)

The same dress three nights in a row  and as for the shoes... well, I have to have REALLY high heels with the trousers, but I can't wear them two days in a row (I have a black pair and a pink pair with lilac pompoms, everything else is too low for them)... so I've got to work out the best combination between black satin, black and white, purple suede (already packed) red, and the two really high pairs... and that's before I work on the evening/casual stuff.

OH has just texted to say I left my long black cardigan at his, and he'll pack it with his stuff, so that's one less thing to worry about!

I've just worked my way through the ironing (only two kingsize duvet covers to do, and they can wait till I get back from travelling). It would have been so much easier if I'd done it as it was generated rather than letting it build up.

OK... back to the packing - I can't go to bed until its done, as my bed is covered in stuff ;) I've put my suit jacket and skirt, a pair of purple shoes, a cardigan, vest top, tights and knickers in my hand luggage so that if my hold luggage goes awol I can cope. Need to remember to put the most important toiletries (shampoo and conditioner and face wipes), make up and jewellery in as well as my laptop etc.

I am guessing that sock monkey is like the one on the PG tips TV ads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey_%28advertising_character%29

TADA is something I would say when I have completed a job, probably sounds a little like your phone. More cheery than a To Do list. :rotfl:
