Brilliant news about the school MG :T
As others said - contact the parents who withdrew asap.
Don't think I have done much so far
Got two birthday cards
One xmas pressie (queried price at till and got it for the 'shelf edge' price - only £2 but better in my pocket than theirs)
Out this pm for a talk and a natter with friends.
Surfbabe - I would never have the patience to teach.
MatyMoo - whenever I see references to the BBC Micro I think of the Doomesday Project. Don't think anyone realised how quickly technology would change and storage media become obsolete.
I agree with you about spell-checkers, they can be useful but they are also stupid. Have you noticed that if your fingers slip and you type a number in a word the checker doesn't pick it up?
Cheery Daff - :T:T:T You got it because you deserved it and were the right person!!!0 -
Great news about the school MG and hopefully you can start to build up numbers again. I guess it must feel a bit daunting on the finance side but you are not alone with it and have done so much already. DS1 must be over the moon :j0

Oooh, Domesday project, that was amazing :T Thank you for triggering another memory. Wonder what happened to all the info and if anyone still has the info but in a useable format for today. I wonder if anyone remembers taking part in data gathering for it?
Spellchecker does have it's place but it does also have it's faults:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

Wow MG, what brilliant news! :j :j :j You're right, financial problems can be solved :T Good luck! :j :j
And what happened in your mysterious 10.30am coaching call????0 -
Wow - what a lot I've missed!
MG so glad to hear the fabby news about the school! Fantastic that things can now get back on an even keel - I would think it sounds very likely that some of the families you had lost thanks to HTH will now return as well.
Daffs my lovely stop feeling guilty about being offered the job - why would they have wanted to waste time and resources advertising and interviewing elsewhere when they already knew that they had the perfect person for the role right under their noses? Hurrah for companies with the vision to see things like that! :j
Thanks to all for the congratulations for my first client - I'm really pleased! I've been helping them out full time the past two and a half weeks for a very low rate of pay indeed, but they are now going to be paying me nearly as much for me doing two days as they have for 5 days until now, I was pleased that they were happy to pay exactly what I asked for which goes to show I'd pitched it about right, and which also happens to be *just* enough that we can scrape through financially each month when combined with OH's earnings too. So I have my safety net!
Avon is also going well - my orders this campaign will be submitted on Tuesday and will total just under £240.00 which I'm happy with.
Another one here aiming for a TADA day - already done some stuff:
load of washing out of machine
dishwasher emptied
washing up done
bank visited and cheque paid in
two charity shops checked for possible work clothes
A shop in Lidl - 2 x packs of steak, 2 x large tins of salmon, 2 x 500g bags of parsnips, 1kg of clementines and a jar of pesto for £6.24
Last lot of Avon books collected with just two stragglers to go back for tomorrow.
Next lot of Avon order forms stamped up ready for use.
One black bag ready to go to the bin and the next one started
