:j:j Fantastic news for you, DS's and the school MG :j:j
The universe has been asked and answered again
Been away most of the week and have just caught up on 5 days posts, gosh you lot can talk :rotfl: There has been too much for me to comment on everything but just a few things......
I even sat some exams typing up my answers on an old BBC Micro B computer - the one with the huge floppy disc becaue I was TOO QUICK for the scribe at dictating from my Mind Maps.
Now - I write books for godness sakes
We have technology on our sides now - you guys can tell my spelling can still be pretty ropey (but you kindly don't point it out) - but I think whoever invented "Spell checkers" should be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize ...........
I used to work for Acorn who made the BBC Micro so this made me smileBut if you think where we were with technology then and now WOW!!!!
I am never sure about spell checker. Yes, it is fantastic for those with learning difficulties but I think it has made the rest of us lazy. And how many times have you been caught out as it hasn't picked up the wrong word as it is still a word IYSWIM
Ok - so how are you going to remember this ?:
3.141592
3 - How
.1 -I
4 - Wish
1 - I
5 - Could
9 - Calculate
2 - Pi
But I can't get any further than that!
Sines, Co-sines, Tangents
Some people have curly brown hair til painted blue
Sine = perpendicular over height
Co-sine = base over height
Tangent = perpendicular over base
Never used it since school, never forgotten it
bedwetting
We had a problem with this in the family, before Mum and Dad went to bed they always got us out of bed and on the loo, half the time we were asleep and didn't even remember, but it helped to make the problem less frequent.
I still do not know my left and right and have to mentally think 'you write with your right' and almost act it out to recall which is which.
Hold your hands out, palms down, fingers together and thumbs out to the side. Look down.... You cant' make a L with your right hand.
I can do right and left but have always had issues with North, South, East, West and Clockwise/Anticlockwise (Although this has improved in 10 years of commuting on the M25)
Sending positive thoughts to those that need them:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

Great news MG. Onwards and upwards. As soon as you get new children on the role, the figures will start to come good. Don't forget Mike and the poster campaign. Also a individual school website would be good.0

As we're celebrating small successes today as well as big ones, here's my TADA list
Two loads of washing done. Partly dried on line but then it started raining
One load in TD
One lot on airer
Clothes and pillowcases ironed (only PJs and duvet covers left)
ESTA form completed and paid for
Dry cleaning collected
Thank you letter posted to Hong Kong
Recycling out
Bins emptied and out
I'm still working out what I need to pack... I can see myself doing this late tonight/early tomorrow. However the sun is now out so I need to go and dig over a flowerbed and plant as much as I possibly can.
Then I need to run the hoover/duster/mop over the house so that it is relatively clean before I leave
All before 5pm, when I have to be at the community centre to help with the school fireworks display (hopefully not for too long!)0
