  • Crafty scholar I am sure that you have decided what to do by now but I agree with the excellent words of wisdom that have gone before. I tended to load myself with guilt even when what I had done was what was originally agreed and couldn't get my head round the fact that it was all self inflicted. I think we can all have more demanding expectations of ourself than we do of others. Must learn to take it easier on ourselves.
Oh how well I know that feeling. While the other people involved go merrily on their way.

MG - what is that woman on?:eek::eek:
So glad that the other parents are rallying round.

Great news MG! :T How sad that the HT is so disillusioned, But how great that you can all rally round and do something about it! :j

(((((((((hugs for the poorly and mistreated folk)))))))))

and well done to the kit collectors! :j :j :j

I did notice Lucifa mentioned about the SA football team being over here - not sure anyone's picked up on it, but does anyone know them?? Anybody fancy ringing them up?? They might even be able to donate some kit themselves, or challenge the opposition to :D

(and did someone, Lucifa again??:o mention they had a semi pro boyfriend???)

Sorry, can't do much myself now, just noticed what someone had said and didn't want it to get lost in the rest of the goings-on! :)

Great news MG & JC, also all 'shirt lifters' :rotfl: :j.

Claire - sorry to hear about epidural but look on the bright side - as least you'll feel better as a result - others have to bring a baby home after an epidural :D:eek:;)

    Evening all!!

I have had a tremendous week of collecting so far. And would honestly like to thank each individual who has helped me so far!

My plea has been featured in two weeks of our national online newsletter. I work for the NHS Business Services Authority, based in Newcastle upon Tyne and we have sites all over the UK.

I am also bumping my request on our intranet classifieds ads page on a weekly basis.

I am going to stick up posters tomorrow all over the place.

Everyone has been so so generous, my pals and my facebook friends have been unbelievable and work colleagues, many whom I have never met, have donated so far:

Football shirts: 183!!!! Shorts 72 pairs; socks 29 pairs; boots 12; other items 18!!

I am going to really play for tons more over the next 11 days as I have given a decent cut off time to allow me to package, label and organise a day off work to drive to the central collecting point. Hopefully accompanied by my sister!

This has also been posted on the Matrix forum, but I don't know if the Facebook page is still being updated as I appear to have the most messages on there and don't want to look like I am showing off by being the only person updating!!!

Well, I have worked a bit hard tonight and am now going to chill! Counting football shirts is tiring work!!

Hope everyone's okay and still surfing on the wave of positive mental attitude!!!

    Good night all

    T

    This is EPIC :rotfl::D
    Thanks so much.

Please can people update on the FB page? I still can't access the private forum :(

I'm still working on the shipping side. :)

Female strip is fine - there are as many girls as boys after all.
But it is the RUGBY team that is in the UK (Springboks) and sadly within the townships Rugby is perceived as a white game, something that needs to be addressed I suppose. Like in the UK, the moneyed people play Rugby :o So football strips are what they want.

But I like the idea of the Springboks bringing back footie strips :rotfl:

Back again - my computer froze, but a friend sent their teenage son over this morning to fix it an I can now type again - Yipee!!!

Mrs B has chalenged me to wear something every day that I would happy standing and talking to people in - mainly because as the cold weather was coming in I was retreating behind my winter wardrobe of jeans, trainers and fleeces.

I just looked frumpy and fat.

Yesterday I wore he tunic and boots that I gave you all a link to - even though I spent the day dong mummy stuff. DS1 to doctors (he's getting over croup!!!) DS1 to school, DS2 and I round LIDL for weekly shop (£7.89), both of us round to Post Office to post off books, into Charity shop to hand in some bits, round to Dentists for scale and polish prior to impressions being taken for veneers (Dental training hospital so very MSE -actually FREE) Pick up DS1 from school at lunchtime because they were spending the afternoon outside and thats not such a good idea with his cough. Both boys to the hairdressers (they look gorgeous), back home for a meeting and baking and dinner.

All that in the wedge boots I showed you guys from Dotty P's - and they are so comfortable I thik will have no problem using them onstage.

Gotta run - school run time

    Back soon

    MG

Ps in skinny jeans, navy top and longline grey cardigan with the boots today - look skinny as anything.

    GM everybody,
Fantastic News re all the footy kits. Way to go. If this is just a percentage of what we can achieve as a collective, the sky really is the:eek::D limit.
So pleased about the school MG, the HT will maybe think twice now before she tries to manipulate, parents, children and boards for her own selfish ends.

My morning off today, hence why I'm here so early :rotfl:

I haven't done that on the fb page Olive, but I *do* have some shirts and trainers sitting in my porch.

Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon were in a film recently together about this ... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1057500/ Invictus. MF played Nelson Mandela, who has seen the film!

But I like the idea of the Springboks bringing back footie strips :rotfl:

    So do I :D

Well all change here again at Memorygirl Manor - my friend who I thought would be perfect to help me build the business has just been offered her dream job at St A Uni (How's that for timing?).

She is still willing to pitch in and help - but obviously was not meant to be my "right hand gal" at this point.

So - off to grab the Mind Mapping kit and get a wiggle on.
