I am wanting to travel from Bangor(Gwynedd) to Glasgow (Central I think) and back again Friday Dec 3rd going I gather there is a train at 1602 and returning Sunday evening Dec 5th what is the cheapest way to book my tickets? I can see £78 return can anyone do any better?

Looks the cheapest to me - I tried split tickets and its more expensive for a ticket from Crewe to Glasgow than it is for Bangor to Glasgow!2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0 -
Nope, forget that. I'm finally in. It apparently helps if I use the password you gave me
Funny that - cos I found it helped when I used the password I had registered with. Oops.
I might end up living on a house boat for couple of weeks.
Well that's a pretty groovy plan B :T:T:T:T:T, how much fun would that be.
Had no desire to take part in any ridiciulous 50 day challenge, and am fairly happy with my job (very well paid and mostly enjoy it, not prepare to take 75% drop in salary to retrain ). But been a bit inspired on here, and in particular Firewalker's posts. When I did my OU degree I did a 1yr applied ethics course & loved it. Never pursued it. So, the challenge I sort of thought about this morning is to read [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] a proper book[STRIKE]s [/STRIKE]. On the train for a PM meeting I read a brief interview with Bettany Hughes and have decided to order her book on Socrates from the library. Feeling v chuffed that the Universe has helped me out. Ta, big U :T EDIT: Library haven't stocked it yet - doh. Off to check own books for something that needs a brain to read it (but can still be read in the bath :rotfl:)
Great news on shirts and good progress on lots of fronts :j. Off to try to order book & log back in to Matrix :eek:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Sadly no - because the cheap crewe to glasgow tickets are sold for Friday
For the future... Fridays and Sunday afternoons are the hardest time to get thecheapies. They are available 8-12 weeks in advance.
Its sometimes cheaper to split the ticket buying into chunks. i.e. instead of bangor to glasgow, look where you change trains and buy individual tickets.. i.e bangor to crewe, crewe to glasgow. You can sometimes save a packet...
As an example... I regularly go from Plymouth to Bristol... it's £46 return. I buy a return from plymouth to exeter and another return from exeter to bristol. Costs £30. I don't even have to get off the train at exeter. Stupid pricing system, but a result nonetheless x0 -

Now if it was an unfortunate situation where it all happened a bit early in a place cut of from civilisation and you had to scream your way through it, that'd be different.
But... why would you volunteer for it?
Should it ever have to happen to me - I DEMAND A CAESARIAN!
Lol I did on birth of 1st and the midwife said @You didnt scream when it was going in, so there's no point screaming now its on its way out.
How right she was.
Seriously though after 4 quick vaginal deliveries, none maxed 1 hour,
and 1 emergency c-section. I know the easiest option, natural birth
C-section takes weeks to recover from took 6 weeks and I had a toddler to take care of as wekk, cos OH at the time, was working.
Plus had a daily commute on bus as baby was in special care (8 weeks prem). Not nice.
Caeser birth has its place, but it shouldnt be a choice in my opinion,0 -

Nope, I can't see it cheaper either - although thetrainline usually charges a booking fee - cross country trains don't though0 -

Oh, and it's not natural - it's a design fault... it's far too big to come out of there...0
