Don't know if it's of any use, but I came across quite a few women in business networking groups when doing MG's spreadsheet thing for her courses... just by googling 'networking' and city name. Some were free, and all provided support to women setting up/running businesses - might any of those be any use to you Ruby?

There were a couple of networking groups kind of like the matrix - they had different 'chapters' of about 8 people, within those nobody was in direct competition for business, they met to socialise and discuss solutions to problems etc, and all carried the business cards of the people in their chapter to pass out to others they met who they thought might be useful :j Do you know I never even realised such things existed??! :o

I wonder if the matrix has 8 people living close enough to me to meet regularily? That would be really motivating :D

Ok, yes I can hear you loud and clear. Yes it would make more sense, yes I have been sitting on them for a very long time. But I haven't been well and now I am. (That is my story and I am sticking with it :o)

If I sell them now as a job lot I am hard pushed to get £100 it would probably be closer to £50. To move them I need to make an extra trip costing around £50.- in van hire plus diesel for 200 miles. Also additional storage would cost around £25 for two weeks. However if I can sell them individually and get 50p average per book I will make £2,500. Even with 20p average I would make £1,000. And actually I don't know how many books there is :o, could be more as I have added what used to be my personal collection into the pile.

I am now first in line for a property that should be available mid November. I am waiting to hear tomorrow when exactly and depending on the answer will set plan b in action. I might end up living on a house boat for couple of weeks.

Is there a matrix member close by who could baby-sit the books and sell them off for you - then you could split the money?

Would give someone based at home a nice earner for before Christmas and then you would make more than your £50 - £100?

    Seems like a profitable compromise.

Can you do a fast cut to differentiate the books, so that you get rid of the dross and keep the rest. I did a similar exercise using amazon with things I was aiming to amazon/ebay/carboot. 20ps means a carboot this weekend subject to weather, you're competing with the 1p professional sellers.

I need to increase/diversify the way I provide antenatal classes. We are quite saturated with educators in the area where I live but elsewhere there are very few available to support women who desperately need support. I can and have provide one to one sessions by phone and by email - does anyone have any idea how or where I could advertise this service to increase number of clients? This way of working particularly suits women who are in a subsequent pregnancy.

Send info to Woman's Hour's researchers...

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: First one came 6 weeks early in 70 minutes. Second one spot on and the Midwife lived on the next hill - so was with me in 40 mins, 3 contractions and catch:eek:

I factored that 30 minutes for the ambulance to find us - and 10 mnutes to get me on board 0 then 30 minutes to get to Dundee.

Well the baby would by my calculations have been born going around the 5-ways roundabout.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Nah, rather stay safe and warm in my bed than screamng hrough the night wth a blue flasher. Midwife did make tea and breakfast before she went - and DS1 got to cut the cord ........ although to hear him tell the story he was the one that brought his wee brother into the world.:D

You were very lucky, I was very fit and active, and then my body just didn't like pregnancy. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing until you're pregnant.

Without extra support for premmies and extra monitoring I don't know if I or the two boys would be here.

Sorry but there is so much hype about natural birth that I like to post at times to give a little balance.
  • OK I need help from experienced train travellers as I can't remember the last time I was on a train as I always drive.

I am wanting to travel from Bangor(Gwynedd) to Glasgow (Central I think) and back again Friday Dec 3rd going I gather there is a train at 1602 and returning Sunday evening Dec 5th what is the cheapest way to book my tickets? I can see £78 return can anyone do any better?

I am going shopping with Souk :j:beer::T

Oh I get that - I just knew my body would go into labour and want to spit it out again :D

And knew I wouldn't make it to hospital - so rather than have an emergency delivery at the roadside I opted to stay put and have everyone come to me.

When the milk came in the Midwife used to take the extra (loads :rotfl:) for the prem unit at the hospital - did that for about a month until it settled down and DS2 got hungrier.

Funny cos last time gave blood the nurse told me that my type (pretty rare) was in demand for prem babies - so could I make sure to come back every time I was called.

Subtle type of guilt marketing - but it works :D:D

If some of them are reference books you could list them on Amazon - they sell well because Amazon is often the first place people look for books. It really only takes seconds to load each book, you type in the ISBN number, choose from a list of descriptions (perfect, good, collectors edition etc) and have the option of putting in further details if necessary (DD always highlighted sections so I would put that in there).

Postage is a set amount no matter what size, and no matter how many are sent to one address -which is why there are books at 1p, if the book is light there was profit to be had. I never sold anything at 1p - those sort of books I sold at boot fairs or they went to charity.
You could move a fair few by November.........;)
