Too late I was there first :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :cry::cry:

But Popeye made me give up work and follow him to sunny SA so gadding about the globe won't be possible anyway. :o

I really want to do the 50 day challenge, but I'm not sure what I want to challenge myself to :o
So I think - perhaps learn a new skill?
    but WHAT?
    Get on and write?
    but I just procrastinate...........

I think I *know* what that means really :rotfl:

As you know I'm in a similar position as a travelling wife, and like you it's a case of not knowing what comes next or where/when, so long term planning is difficult.

I'm planning to do a skills audit, so that when I am somewhere longer term I know what the possibilities are, also can work out what training etc I want/need to fulfil the objectives I set.

Friends have suggested me writing too, maybe that's a way forward.

I know I'm not working at the moment, but maybe setting myself a timetable/schedule as though my current lifestyle were a 'proper job' will help stop the procrastination, maybe that would work for you too. I know I've seen a few author interviews where they do set themselves so many hours each day to be locked away and write.

Hi all, will join the 50 day challenge and a 100 day one.

Been finally writing down my lieu tme at work, have already accrued 2 full days off in a fortnight.

Next is to remember to write down my mileage, I tend to diddle myself out of loads...this must be changed or rather my attitude towards it should.

Ooopsy work phone ringing, best answer it. Back later x

  • MG - the metallic taste in your mouth might be lack of Iron - someone told me chocolate is good for that (or maybe that was selective hearing!):D

DT - the Reading people are sorting out the shirts this week, so will pick them up next week (fingers crossed my work project is still quiet next week)

Am also up for a 50 day challenge...

Off to have a scratchy head moment....

Greenbee... I've checked with DT, and am now checking with you ... can I please join in your quiet conversation about research work? I love researching - genealogy, websites, you name it - and I'm good at presenting too. Never even thought of it as a job for me, but something clicked today, when you were describing the skillset .....

  • I need to increase/diversify the way I provide antenatal classes. We are quite saturated with educators in the area where I live but elsewhere there are very few available to support women who desperately need support. I can and have provide one to one sessions by phone and by email - does anyone have any idea how or where I could advertise this service to increase number of clients? This way of working particularly suits women who are in a subsequent pregnancy.

Oh, MG, you poor lamb. When I read your post last night I immediately thought "migraine". I used to be plagued with them - 2 or 3 a month on average (but - whispering as I don't want to temp Fate -have only had two since I retired a couple of years ago and stopped working under strip lighting) so know just how rough you've been feeling. Try to take it easy this evening. I'm sure people will understand if they have to wait another day for their log-in details.

Online, online, online - web camera ante natal - I would have loved it.:D:D

Would have also stopped me having murderous thoughts every time I mentionned the words "homebirth" and the consulant would pat me on the hand and say "yes, but you will want to be close to pain relief won't you dear?"

Thing was he was about 12 I was forty -and I knew what labour was like, because I HAD HAD A BABY BEFORE!!!!!

Having my care team online would have been fab.
