  • I agree with jc2703 that the make do and mend/money saving thread should stay here.

Definitely agree that you need to keep a presence on this forum MG because over time you are going to need to generate "new blood" to keep the momentum going iyswim. Hope that makes sense and is not the Pinot Grigio burbling on :p

Just been looking at Kit 4 kids on FB. Should we have a link to the collection email address on there in case anyone falls across it and may have football shirts?

I have posted the address on there but it would be better if it was in the information section I don't know who set it up in the first place?

Oh good - that leaves me something to continue wittering about on here about:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

orry not been on much this evening - but I have been getting my head around the new forum stuff.

I think the next step will be that Matrix members will be emailed with a link and a unique password to allow them to pop over and register. That way the forum is kept completely private and you will be free to witter to your hearts content :D

Means I now have to collate another list - but I will give you all a heads up as I start emailing you all so yu can keep a look-out.

But I am so weary so I think that will have to be in the morning;)

Please include me in the new Matrix website mailout? You'll need someone to unblock the drains, get the broadband working and do the runs to the tip with all the cardboard after you move in.

Another vote for your continued presence here for those of us who are not following you into the world of business.
  • I agree about keeping this thread running and with your suggestions for the threads on the other forum.

  • MG, count me in for the new thread please - although I don't know how I am going to keep up with even more stuff!

Claire, really well done on the fundraising sales! And re the breadmaker - I have one but the bread it makes always seems to come out case-hardened but spongy inside and doesn't taste properly 'bready' somehow although I've tried all sorts of variations. Instead I am just using it to mix the dough and then I cook it in the oven afterwards (usually when I have something else going in anyway) and that is working really well, so perhaps you could do that?

Right, goodnight to anyone still up! See you in the morning!
  • Now we need to decide what threads we need to start.

    I'm thinking :

Kits for Kids - for Olives kids
Baby Business - for the fledgling businesses and chat
Make Do and Mend - for all our stretching the pennies stuff
MG - The Matrix - for all the Mr Big,Coaching Stuff and Micro financing chat

Fours enough to be going on with? Don't you think?

    Over to you ladies

    Memorygirl

I agree with the others that have suggested the 'Make do and mend' section stays on MSE.

But would it also be good to keep the Mr Big (and mentors) and coaching stuff on here too, that way people that are lurking but are not at the stage of joining the Matrix can also benefit from being carried along by this wave of self-development that we have going. It may just me be but I feel that part of what makes this thread so inspirational is everyone playing along with the blog, and sometimes it is the challenges that spark off an amazing tangent (eg the investment idea). When such an idea has formed and needs to be nutted out separately it can be moved to a thread on the other site. Eg. for the Kit4Kids to organise collection and have totals for different areas but in a more secure arena. I just think that we don't want to take everything that's so special away from this thread.

OK, starting to lose myself there, hope that makes some semblance of sense!

I'm all for there being a dedicated website, but no-one has yet said that it's going to be a bit of a pain having to check and catch up with two sites, both of which could get busy.

If there was a final post here saying where the thread went and how to apply to join the new site, I think most people would transfer having read this thread and its predecessor. If not, they aren't interested.

I can foresee lots of 'Now which site was it on?' problems. People will also reply to a thread on here in the new site.

Sorry to be the only dissenting voice if I am but that's my two penn'orth. Maybe the high number of 'voters' supporting the new site is made up partially of people not wishing to be left by the wayside. The new site's the right thing to do but keeping certain topics just for 'here' will kill its variety. Sometimes it's good to leaven the heavy stuff with a bit of a discussion about undies...

P.S. What time does everyone get up round here anyway?

Makes a lot of sense, Aussie.
I hadn't put my hand up for an invite to the new site as I didn't feel I could contribute anything, but I know that reading this (and MG's other threads) and the blog has made a difference as I bumble along my own path.
Besides there will be new people reading on MSE who could need the same encouragement to move forward.
My only concern would be that we are asking MG to run two on-line streams when she is coping with so much else.
