I won't be waiting til 2011 :D It's just that I've said from the start of 2011 I will ONLY wait nice underwear :D My budget at the moment doesn't stretch to replacing all of mine in one go :o Especially not when last time I was measured my bust was, er, a size 32FF and so I tend to have to buy from the 'speciality bra' range :D So between now and the new year I'll build up a nice collection slowly (and wear it as I'm going along!), but it might have to be fused in with my current collection (I am NOT prepared to wash often enough to only own one bra and 2 pairs of pants! :rotfl:)

(never heard of la perla though, must investigate!)

Look what's happened now - the entire matrix is going to start going about in fabulously supportive and cheery underwear :D :rotfl: :j

Just thought I'd add that Bravissimo is the place to go and be fitted if you're of the larger persuasion. The woman in M&S told me I was a 42D, but my boobs looked AWFUL and I had backache all the time. Fitted at bravissimo I now wear a 36FF, and I've got my waist back as my boobs are now supported and in the right place
Even if you're fitted there but order from Figleaves, the difference was amazing, people commented and asked if i'd lost a dress size! I've now spent a year buying new bras and knickers, and I do feel a lot better about my shape, even though I've still got a few stones to lose. :)

Firewalker I am reading about the actress Shirley MacLaines experience of doing the Santiago de Compostela. She had lots of spiritual moments. If you have not read it and would like it just let me know.

My assets definitely need scaffolding despite the weight loss and even the special shops don't have the right size  a trip to Rigby and Peller in London was a disaster  surely I can't be the only one this size why are you made to feel odd :(

Wow. Crickett, look what you started! I thinkwe can all identify with parts of what you said. I won't go into details either, but I can certainly identify with that trouble from the past still causing problems today.

Anyway .... I was truly going to be putting *all* my clothes on the bed and just putting back what I *knew* I'd wear. Thats too drastic today, I don't feel well enough. But I can go through my underwear - I did quite a bit last year, but it can certainly stand to be done again. I didn't go upmarket last year, couldn't afford it, but maybe thats what I'll start with. The very first thing I started off with, about 5 years ago now, was my hangers - I had the usual grotty mix of wire, various presents, various shops, all sorts of things. Now, I kept the nice padded sets that were presents, or the few quality ones I'd already bought. But I gradually bought a complete set of wooden hangers, and then trouser/skirt hangers too. They aren't all the same, the trouser/skirt ones, but they're all quality. Its made a huge difference in its own right, but I should get back to it. Okay, I'll start with underwear.

    Thanks folks!

  • Heavens I am always running after you lot trying to catch up!

Re liking your body; I agree with what others have said, everyone has good attributes, focus on those, and as Taka said think of what your body does for you rather than on looks. I once saw a quote which was

'Look after your body - where else would you live?'

If you experience some serious health problem you will suddenly realise you didn't appreciate what you had before when you had a healthy body, no matter what it looked like! So stop obsessing about looks and find things that make you feel good instead (probably not the gym, by the sound of it) and the rest will follow more easily.

Incidentally I had plantar fasciitis (sp?) and I found that cycling was a big help.

Claire thanks for the earrings, they arrived today and they're lovely!
