if they are getting in through a door then try a beaded curtain or even net curtains if you can get the length.0

We have baby type flies knocking about and I'm wondering if I could make something to either get rid of them and keep them away, using things that maybe in my cupboard?
Help they are driving me crazy!!!
Bins are emptied twice a day especially in the kitchen.
But I'm hoping someone may have an os tip?:money:Ds2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

I find that the best way of getting rid of an invasion of flies is the fit the narrow nozzle to your vacuumn cleaner if it has one and zap them when they land on a wall or ceiling etc.
My friend has had two invasions of flies this year in his newish purpose built flat & this has worked both times. (Both times the flies have been different types & have come inside when he's had the windows open at night & the weather has changed)0 -
What you are describing sound like fruit flies which can be a nuisance at this time of year.
I'm very lucky...I have an enthusiastic twelve year old armed with an electronic tennis type racquet from the pound shop to solve my problem.Literally £1 and the cost of two AA batteries...well worth it's weight in gold when you're being dive bombed by a fly!
Assuming that you don't have a resident 12 year old armed with a fly zapper, these existing threads may help:
Getting rid of flies
Danged fruit flies!!
I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the suggestions together.

I have the same problem, midge sized little blighters but they're on a nice slow leisurely drift rather than zoom about.
I keep the fruit in the fridge instead of a bowl.
Shutting the bin that anyone else in the house seems unable to shut.
Removing the recycling twice a blinking day! (don't get me started!!!!)
And finally, creating a huge toxic fog with fly spay just before I shut the door for bed.
Still got 'em, but just the odd one.0 -
I live next ti a dairy farm, they are notorious for creating fly issues, it drives me crazy too.
I have just, in frustration spent far too much money on two dly tags for horses headcollars and bridles, and am having a moments peace from flies.0 -
I've put a bowl out with malt vinegar and a squirt of washing up liquid mixed with sugar and it seems to be workingDs2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

That effect was very short lived. The down stairs reeks of citronella but the flies are carrying on as normal now.
I think we are going to invest the kind of zapper light they have in commercial kitchens. Either that or go mad.0
