How can a texas court have jurisdiction over an english asset, based in england, trading in england...?
I think the guys don't like losing, NESV are committed and said they wont walk away. RBS won't put Kop holdings in to administration until the club is sold (or they devalue the asset and lose a buyer)
Can see it being drawn out for a bit, just hope H&G (well G now) lose their shirt. Trying to sue RBS for $1Bn for selling an asset they can't repay and one they have admitted breach of contract on the loan?
I think the guy has gone bonkers.
I am happy the board is legal and they cant remove it, as that means a sale is just a matter of time now. (and yapping yank away

Just read a pdf online of the court submission Hicks & Gillett made in america.
The document is so poor, that it even gets Gilletts name spelt wrong.
Oh, & they are also claiming $1.6bn in damages!:rotfl:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

If they won that I would say every liverpool fan has a good counter claim for a similar amount for
"we wont load the Debt on the Club"
"we will build a new stadium".
What gets me yesterday their lawyer said in court they accept they have to sell the club and were not standing in the way of that.
Just like the recent court case where they say they were excluded from a board meeting but forgot they had a lawyer on the confrence call with them.... doh.
They are just wasting more of their own money, but it is now getting amusing watching them squirm a bit.

& lest we forget, the case against them yesterday awarded costs against them. So a big legal bill too!:rotfl:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

the US court doesn't really have jurisdiction - but it's only the same as, say, a UK court getting a freezing order over assets held offshore somewhere, so it works both ways (although trying to get the US to recognise a UK freezing order is, well, interesting).
what i like is that the amount of security they have put up. when you get an injunction you have to pay security into court to cover the damages the other side may suffer if your injunction should not have been granted. $15,000 is the security they have put up - and they are claiming that they are suffering $1.6 billion of damages!! ha ha.
shouldn't think this injunction will last long.0 -

If they win can they only claim damages off of themselves? Not Again0 -
Hicks has flogged his shares to a "3rd" party.
Possibly Mill Finance.
If so the sale is all off.Not Again0 -
I'm waiting for the prime minister to announce an emergency operation is under way to rescue the 33 squad members buried deep in the smelly stuff at LFC.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

I bet that part was spelt correctly though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

He had them taken off him, he defaulted on Mill Finances loan. but that is shares in Kop holdings, not LFC (than god).
So the current board still are OK to proceed a sale.0
