No baby yet. DD is back home and more relaxed after her 'pratice' run in the middle of the night. She was well looked after and told to come back as often as she needs. Not to worry about it being a false alarm.

We had lunch in the restaurant in Fenwicks. It cost me nothing as I was treated to lunch by DD. It serves perfect good for little ones.

Today is another staying by the fire day. New people in the cottage. Though there seem to be more than I was expecting.

Last few days have not been so good. I am presuming what I had was an allergic reaction but not 100% sure yet. Either that or a very bad upset stomach.

It was lucky that DD had a false alarm as I had to get DSIL to come and collect DGD WHILE he was having a nap (which I suggested). This all happened on Saturday after their all night trip to the hospital.

Our friend who offered to help clean the cottage ( while DD was unable to) let us down at the last minute because of personal circumstances. So Mr P did some and then I tried to help. A bad back, no food for two days and dehydration wasn't a good combination so DD came and gave a hand. She should really be allowed some maternity leave as she is 40 weeks today. She is an angel. :A

I am going to ask someone who has excellent credentials to clean next weekend. But, I will still have my friend as she desperately needs the money. I know it is not good business sense but I can't let her down.

Today is another snow day. Not sure if it is this:T or this:(. I will see how the day pans out.

I have had one NSD so far and looking forward to lots more. February was a NSD record 15 :j

I also lost 2lbs in February. Not a lot but something :)

  • Wow Mrs P!

I hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you had a lovely time in Newcastle. You must be so excited about another DGC. I am so pleased to hear that DS2 is feeling better. It is one less worry from your shoulders. You are getting through your debts and things seem to be on the up for you.

I love how your family and friends pull together when times are hard. I think that is so important and you have such a good support network.

    Thinking of you.

Thank you I am feeling a lot better now but have made enquirers about having new allergy tests. I think I may be excluding the wrong things from my diet as I continue to have random reactions.

October starter I do feel things are really improving for us. We knew the first few years would be difficult.

Our mortgage would have been completely cleared last month. Instead we have a few more years to go and it is twice what it was per month. We are getting there and will have two houses in the end of this. I keep saying 'If we live long enough....' Our parents passed away young. I have to stop saying it as it will upset the family but I am just being pragmatic. :D

On a happier note....Today I went with DD to tumble tots and also collected a vacuum cleaner for the cottage. An ex pupil was selling a good cat and dog cleaner second hand. It is like new so I am delighted.

I also went to Mr S and spent £32.60. We didn't buy any meat, fish or dairy so next shop will be pricier.

  • I am so pleased for you Mrs P, you have come a long way from when you started this diary. It gives me hope for all of us.

Mr S is going 10p off petrol for a £30 or more spend. I don't know how long for. I don't have a Mr S with a petrol station nearby though :(

    Have a lovely day

I have a voucher for 10p of per litre at Mr S but like you have no station nearby. I will have to ask plmbl if she knows of a filling station anywhere near her. Then I could fill up when I go to Newcastle with DD on Friday or to visit when she has her baby.

Yesterday was a quiet day. The only incident was a 1 hour 15 minute phone call to Barclays business. I rang because I realised that because of cash flow that we would go overdrawn for one day.

I spoke to very nice young man who suggested that so we didn't occur huge charges that we apply for an overdraft then in a couple of days we could cancel it if we wanted. He spoke to his boss who agreed then he put me through to the next department. All good so far.

Next I spoke to a very helpful woman who I had to explain everything to again. She agreed that an overdraft would be a good thing. She told me that my application would take about 40 mins. I agreed went through security again. She began and then suddenly her tone changed. She said there was a note on the account to say I had to be transferred to'collections' because I was in arrears with my business loan.

I was shocked and stunned. One thing I have never done has been in arrears with my business loan. By then I was racking my brain to think when it could have happened. I thought maybe when I was ill around Christmas and New Year. Maybe the account seemed so much healthier because I had somehow missed a payment. By then I was shaking.

She put me through to 'collections'. The woman there immediately asked me how I would like my payment plan set up to pay my arrears. I asked where I was in arrears and she said my business loan. I was in arrears by£377 which is our monthly payment. She then launched into the set wording again about how I wanted my repayment plan set up. I again tried to find out when I had gone into arrears. Her tone was getting increasingly worse towards me. I was shaking even more.

This continued for quite a while, her saying I was in arrears, me asking when and how.

Eventually she looked into things and said that it was this month I was in arrears. I explained how it has been paid already and she said it hadn't. I explained how it showed as paid on my account again she's said I was in arrears and how would I like to pay it back.

By then I was becoming increasingly distressed. Her tone was getting worse. I explained to her why I had phoned, to say I would go overdrawn for one day and it would be paid off next day. Again she's appeared to listen but then asked how I wanted my repayment plan set up.

Actually by then I was becoming upset. I don't know why but I wasn't able to deal with it very well by then. I checked and I was 48 minutes into the phone call by then. So this time she checked. Oh yes I was right the loan was paid and up to date. It must be because of the new system they have in place

I then said how wrong it is to get someone so upset and to not listen to me on the first place. She asked if I would like to make a formal complaint and I said yes I would. I have asked them to listen to all the conversations. To see where the system is going wrong.

She then asked me how I was going to pay back the £200 I had gone overdrawn. What sort of our repayment plan did I want. Aaaaaaassrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh!!

The lesson I have learnt is that if I am going to go overdrawn for a day to definitely not phone the bank.

Other than that another NSD for both Mr P and me. Mr P has stayed in now for three days. He is being very sensible and not spending too. :)

We had a lovely day. DD came round after her midwife appointment, then there was a knock on the door. T

The little girl who is staying in the cottage was standing there with a bunch of daffodils for me. She said 'Thank you for my holiday cottage'. She is only four. It makes it all worthwhile :)

  • OMG Mrs P.. What disgusting behaviour! I hope you push your complaint all the way. There is no need to put people in such distress. I can't believe she was so unhelpful. Can you borrow the money for a day from someone in the family? Especially as you would pay it back the very next day.

Well done on your NSDs. Mine aren't going very well but hope to change that in the coming weeks.

What a lovely surprise the daffodils were. Such a kind thought and probably brightened up your day significantly as you had such a bad experience on the phone.

Hope today is a better one for you.
