DS2 has re emerged from his dark pit. In fact last night he actually sat and talked to me for hours. The first time in well over a year☺
He talked about the future! !!!! I feel as though I have just breathed a massive sigh of relief.

My back is feeling a lot better too.

We know he has a long way to go yet and that he will continue to have bouts of not feeling good about himself but maybe he has turned a corner.

My knitted jacket is growing a little each day. I now have the back and two fronts finished

Yesterday was DD's 30th birthday so we really splashed out and took her to a local cafe for an all day breakfast. It wasn't her first choice but the snow was bad overnight and no one wanted to venture far. DS2 came with us too. I think it did him good to be out as he has gone out today to take his niece to play group and then to take his sister to collect their new car. Their's was a right off last week when DSIL had his accident.

Mr P is being sensible with money now and asks me before he spends. Well, this week he has, so far .

Today we are collecting DGD from playgroup then bringing her back here for lunch and so MrP can look after her while DD goes to the midwife. She has another appointment on Friday too, at the RVI in Newcastle where she is to give birth. It scares me how far away it is.

We are using up a huge amount of money on fuel as MrP has done lots of trips to shops to help out cottage guests and journeys in the pick up to help DD. I don't think it does many miles to the gallon but it is a Godsend in the winter. I will SORN it in the spring as it won't be needed once risk of snow had gone. It is no longer Mr P's business vehicle.

Alas the cottage despite having people in again this week does not have enough income to cover it's bills. What I need is for someone to pay us for their stay in April or for a last minute March booking. Keeping fingers crossed as most payments don't go out until 4th.

Today I am going to pay some outstanding personal bills and tidy up my knitting before DGD gets here later. Then I will be spending my weekly £1 at knit and natter. We need food shopping but are trying to eke out what we have until we can get to 4ldi.

    Thank you
This household is a lot more relaxed now. Especially me ☺

I phoned the solicitor about DA's estate as I have had a few enquiries about it from desperate relatives. The solicitor said that there is still a problem with BT but she can probably distribute the bulk of the estate next week. We will be able to pay off Mr P's credit card and then we will be debt free. I have been debt free since last summer.
Then we have the business mortgage and loan to pay off. Those are not expected to be complete for another 6 years. But it isn't long away considering our starting point. We are both feeling quite positive about the business and it's ability to be self sustaining.

Bookings are trickling in slowly. Repeat bookings are good. Someone had just booked their sixth holiday☺

Tomorrow I am going with DD for her hospital appointment and to meet up with two cousins. We both hoped we would be invited for lunch but instead have been invited to meet them for lunch. We are going to find somewhere reasonably priced which also does 'proper' food for DGD. If anyone knows of a good place in central Newcastle I would be very grateful for the info. I do have a gourmet card (free) which I can use to gain discounts too.

The yarn is a cream aran from America. It only cost $10 so I couldn't leave such a bargain. The pattern is for a swing jacket. It had a tiny bit of cable on the pockets and a panel on the bank. My tension is terrible and the arthritis in my hands and wrist makes it change constantly. I have decided that once it is washed it won't show😀

Today we went to Newcastle and met up with cousins while DD was at obstetrician then set off home and DD thought she might be in labour but drove me home first. It is 50 miles or so.

We have DGD staying with us tonight, just in case.

Today I spent the total of £2.25 on a gingerbread man for DGD. I then spent almost 2 hours in the toy department of a large store while DGD played and then watched Frozen. We are both shattered but we had a lovely day together. And it was almost free.
