Thank you and Happy New Year too you all..

I am beginning to feel a bit better. I had an incident where I was struggling to breathe despite using asthma Meds correctly so had to go to out off hours GP at hospital yesterday evening. Now armed with antibiotics and steroids.

I had invited the family over for dinner but had to leave then while Mr P took me the 45 mile round trip to see GP. We have been here 20 years and it is the first time I have needed to use it

Thank you Beanie. I am resting in the hope I can rid myself of this horrible chest infection. I have antibiotics and prednisolone for my asthma so a belt and brass approach.

DD, DDIL and DGD are coming back today for the cheese course they missed on New Years day.

I have had lots of NSDs :)

Today is DDIL's birthday so I have ordered a basket of fruit to be delivered to her in Orlando. Their move to New York is on hold as she is having major surgery later this month. The fruit cost was in dollars but bi th I mm know around £35. and I bought a moonplgcard for £3.33 for her too.

I haven't kept on top of finances. I had moved some money Into savings online so we couldn't spend it. It should have gone back into our current account by yesterday and I forgot. So we had council tax payment and Internet payment refused and will now have charges for two transactions to come at the end of the month. Grrr.

Today I will be keeping warm, not going out. And I plan to check finances, delete emails, defragment hard drive and watch some movies.

  • Happy New Year Mrs P!

There has been a terrible flu/cold thing going around. I was ill all December and ended up with a chest infection. New Year is the first time I have felt better. I hope you have a quick recovery.

    October xx

Sorry you'v e been under the weather. I hope you're back on form soon.
It's often worth asking the bank to forego charges if you explain what happened and it's not a regular occurence.

I forgot all about phoning them so thank you for the reminder. As it is a one off they may be lenient.

Today I am sending Mr P to garage with £250 cash towards the garage bill. Then it is down to £120 which I should be able to pay on Friday.

I phoned the heating company about the hole in my kitchen ceiling and they promise the builder will be here tomorrow. I just happened to mention that I had recommended the company to my neighbour who is thinking of spending a lot of money on a new heating system..................

Mr P has taken down all the Christmas decorations. I am going to sit and pack them into boxes. Still very short of energy. I don't have a lot because of the FM but this is a lot worse.

I love our new electricity company!:j:j:j:j:j We are now just paying £82 a month. It was £140 with previous provider. The storage rad has gone which is saving us a lot but the bit I love the most is that I can input my readings every month and know exactly where I am with usage. And last week I got £98 back in overpayment too :)

Today I am going to take out of the bank everything that we have available to spend for the month so Mr P can see it. And me too of course. Then we can see how fast it can disappear and teach us both to be a lot more mindful of where the money goes. Mr P bought me sweets and ginger wine, lovely but I am on a diet and also trying to spend nothing and use up what we have here.
