I am feeling a lot better today. I have been on line and applied for RHI for our ground source heat pump in the cottage. It wasn't completely straight forward: as I have applied for the domestic element they need to check that I am telling the truth.

Yesterday I tried planting some perennials in the garden and when bending over snapped my specs in half!! Luckily we still pay Simply Health and I am covered for broken specs too. They are only reading specs but because one eye is very different to the other I use a prescription.
It is just as well I tried to do some planting as today we have gale force winds and torrential rain. Just hoping my plants aren't washed away down the hill. :D I have lost plants down the hill in the past.

I have also chased some other payments due to us too. We may or may not get them soon.

The next thing on my list is to claim some more PPi payments as I have at last heard from Britannia. I only had to write to them three times before I got a reply. The last time I sent my letter as a 'signed for' and amazingly they replied it :D

I have also got a claim to be made for additional costs on our old coop account. It had lots of benefits, none of which we were able to use except the car breakdown. Niot sure if we will be successful on any of them but we did receive more than £5000 from L1oydstsb a couple of years ago.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I've got everything crossed that your claims are successful and your plants remain safe.

I'm off to get new specs on Wed, only 2years later than necessary :o

    Thanks beanie and Granny :)

Mr P was three years without new specs. And he went on his own to choose them. Would not have been my choice but heyho he did it :)

Trying to get him to get his hearing tested.
I even got him a GP appointment and he didn't even mention the hearing. He hears part of a word but not all. At the moment he is frequently telling me I have said something which I haven't. It is a bit like Chinese whispers, which is quite funny sometimes as he 'hears' some very odd things :D

Another thing to add to my campaigns, I think :) But it will be a gentle campaign.

After filling out all the forms I looked online for an address to send my PPI forms to and found a number to ring. The guy there took my details, my agreement numbers and said they will be in touch. My problem is I can't really remember what I agreed to and loans are quite historical so may be too far back.

I have huge bother filling out the form for RHI for the business. I rang the RHI help line and asked what we were classed as and was told the holiday cottage is a 'private landlord' category. The guy also said I should put my name where it asks for organisation. I duly did as recommended and all seemed good. :)

Later in the day I received an email asking for a bank statement for the account I asked for the money to go into, showing my name! Our account is in the business name! I tried to change it and couldn't so I phoned them and I got the same guy. He was very apologetic and suggested he talked to his boss to see if they could change it. :)

Yesterday I had a phone call from the RHI guy and he said I needed to send an email asking to withdraw my application and then to make a new application once I heard they had withdrawn it for me.

I have received the reply so can now reapply :) And tomorrow is the date I can apply for RHI for our house.

It all should have been so easy but true to form I managed to mess it up :D

So, today I am going to apply for RHI on the holiday cottage heating system :D

Knit and natter at 2pm which costs £1 :)

Last night I went to my friend's rag rug course. I was there for the 4th session out of ten so had already missed 3. The cost is £64!!!!!! And I will miss two more because I will be away. So, it could cost £64 for 5 sessions and I was very late for the one yesterday so missed a lot of it.

I am going to phone the course organisers and see if I can get it any cheaper or else I won't be going back. It will be a shame if I can't go back as it was lovely, lots of nice people and very relaxing which I need at the moment. AND I persuaded DS2 to give me a lift there and back as Mr P's shoulder is very painful ATM.

Next week I will be out almost every single day or evening :D Lots of nice things coming up.

I spent £1 last night on tea at rag rug course. And will spend £1 today on knit and natter.
Mr P hasn't been out since Saturday as he has no spending money left. He shouldn't have spent it all in one go in September, nothing left for this month. I wish we could find something he is interested in to give him something to do. Something cheap, of course. He loves going to the pub to see his friends for an hour or two but it is just too expensive....

  • It doesn't sound to me like you messed up, more like the guy on the phone messed it up for you!

Nice to hear you have nice things to look forward to next week also. Could Mr P not have his mates round for a drink in the house instead of meeting at the pub? If everyone brings their own it could be a cheaper night? Xx

I think my latest application for RHI has gone through okay.

Today I went through our finances. We have enough to live on with Mr P not working but he has had to cut down on going out. I didn't really go out anywhere pricey so it hasn't really affected me. He hasn't left the house since last Saturday which isn't good for his mental health so I need to keep an eye on him. This is usually how the downward spiral begins so I will try to find things to do.

plmbl I thought I might have a look and see when the next England football match is on and invite some of Mr P's friends here to watch it. I can hide away somewhere in the house for a bit of quiet time. Or it might be an evening when I am out.

DS2 got upset today and paid the little money he has into our account so I hope I haven't offended him but I have sent it back to his account. His car has tyres which are lethal and he has to buy them. I can't get tyres without the car as I am not insured on his car, if I could drive it. I only drive automatics now because of my ankle problems.
Today I tried making a risotto in the slow cooker. I used the SW recipe but used brown rice. It took a lot longer to cook than the two hours for white rice so I took it out of the slow cooker and finished it off in a wide shallow pan. I then tried to grate the end of the parmesan cheese on top of it and it pinged out of my hand and straight into the dogs open mouth...:D

It was okay with the tiny bit of cheese I grated. I made a ham shank broth a few days ago so I kept some meat and today chopped it up for the two men to have in their risotto. They didn't complain so it must have been okay with brown rice.
