I agree about getting the solicitors in to sort out DA's house it would be overwhelming I think for you to do it all. I'm so glad she had a good send off though, she sounded like a lovely person who will be missed by many :A

Thank you for all the lovely birthday greetings.
Today I started decluttering the office/store room. I can see the wood of one desk
I called about our wood pellet boiler installation and found that they will be starting on 3rd Feb:) It could be a busy week. One of the solicitors who may be looking after DA's estate wants to meet me and DU at 2pm on 3rd (60 miles away at DU's house).
I am hoping the double glazing goes in very soon after, or maybe the same week.
Tomorrow we are going to go to 4ldi to stock up on essentials as the snow forecast is not good and we have run out of lots of things. I always stock up in October in case we are snowed in. This year I didn't get round to doing it and it would be s*ds law that the only year I don't we end up snowed in for days.
Last night we had a schwapping event in the village hall and I got myself an outfitt for when we go to New York, a cardigan, a smart black jacket, black handbag and a pair of unworn black shoes. Feeling very happy with my 'new' things. I also took a whole IKEA bag full of things that don't fit and was very happy to see people taking away my unwanted things. The residue is being taken to a charity shop today.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

A friend of mine is in New York at the minute. She's been posting photo's daily on Facebook and it looks awesome (apart from the snow!). You will have a brilliant time I'm sure.
Great idea to have a swapping event too :T.
Not looking forward to the snow but I know it's worse for you. Take care you XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

New York?! Have I missed something? Lucky you, that's on my long list of places to visit one day. You will look very Carrie Bradshaw in your 'new' outfit, sipping cosmopolitans
.
Hope the snow didn't materialise for you. We had a dusting here but nothing to cause problems xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Hello pooh
Just checking in, very belated and see that I have missed the very sad news about DA, your birthday but also some great stuff re debts, the cottage etc. Very upsetting re DA, I know how much she meant to you and from the congregation, everyone around her..

I didn't realise how long I had been away from here. DS2 is at home a lot now and he hogs the laptop
Thanks brizzled, we are missing her.
Yesterday I went to Newcastle with DD and DGD to meet my aunt's, and of course my late mum's, cousin. She is the 90 yr old.
She wanted to meet me and go and look at overlockers. She had told me not to buy until she had looked at the ones on sale and tell me which one to choose. So we met and looked at the overlockers and she has said the cheaper one on sale is better than the more expensive one. It is £199 but I think I can justify buying it as I can do a lot of sewing a lot faster.
Also and I didn't write about this before as I was still feeling a bit upset but Mr P didn't buy me anything for my birthday or Christmas. It was weird as he has never done this in 30 years together.
It must be because he is out of work because of his back and every time we went out it was together. He said at Christmas he thought I had bought something for myself that he could wrap up for me, bless him. I did stop him buying me pyjamas as he has bought two pairs every year for the last 5 years at least!!
He didn't buy anything for anyone else either as I do the shopping but we do talk about ideas together.
So, I thought I could buy the overlocker for as a Christmas and birthday pressie for me. I am trying to convince myself it is okay to spend money on something for me.
DC (90) bought our lunch out, DD bought coffee later so lots of savings there. And I bought myself a pill box with matching hand bag hook for £10. I have just remembered that Mr P was trying to find me a pill box too for Christmas so it wasn't as though the thought wasn't there.
Today I have given away lots of foam I had for making seat cushions for DA. I did make her what she wanted and this was what was left from the seat foam I received on freegle.
It has made some space in my office/ library/work room/store. It is still called the playroom from when the kids were little. Any ideas of a new name very welcome. We store all the things we need for the cottage in there too, eg towels, bedding etc. And we dry all the laundry in there too.
After I paid the money into coop accounts last week it triggered something on their system and then I started receiving calls from various departments about my accounts not being up to date. The accounts haven't been closed despite me having letters to say they will be closed as soon as they receive the money. Today I will check online and contact them if I still have open accounts.
The hall was plastered on Sunday ready for the new boiler.DS2 will paint it with whatever we have in the house. Hopefully it will be something light in colour. It cost £320 but is well worth the cost to have clean smooth walls behind the boiler.
