Apartment in New York!

My husband and I are off to New York to visit our son who is working there for a few months. Just a word of caution. He signed up to Craigs List before he went and on the first day found a really nice place for $1000 a month. The man asked for a $500 deposit and when he came back next day to move in he asked for another $500 and the balance for 3 months stay to be paid within 24 hours. Now this seems to be standard for short lets in NY but when my son said his aunt would have to meet this man on the Monday to pay the balance he got really funny. Anyway my son realised that there was something wrong and asked for his deposit back. He only gave him $150.00 and although my son argued for 45 minutes in the end he walked away. He finally found a great place in the Village but I would say to be wary of using Craigs List and maybe a cheap hotel would be safer.

A few years ago we stayed at the Kimberly Suites, Manhattan. We had a 2 bedroom suite and this was huge. I looked up there web site and the place has been totally refurbished. It looks really great. Unfortunately the rate for your days are

Hi blindman, thankyou we really do not want to split the stay unless its staying somwhere different on the 1st night.

I will take a look at the above, i also tries priceline but didnt have any luck.

It's not looking that good however on Hotwire there is this hotel in Meadowlands

It seems to be a tough weekend in Manhattan
