I don't think that vodafone will budge, regardless of any publicity we could muster. Why should they? We took out contrcts with them for the airtime and promised to pay the rent. They certainly will provide the airtime , thus honouring their side of the contract. We took out a contract with FC for the cashback, unfortunately they cannot deliver. We took a gamble, we lost. Now we have to live with it. End of story.
  • this is just one heck of a raw deal for all you guys/gals that took out a cash back offer,. i still cant beleive how this FC company got too this point of bankrupt

i was told by a orange reseller he gets 300£ per contract he signs up, on a 50£ line rental of 400 xnet mins double (800minzs) per month,. maybe hs was talking some bs,. but he even gave me all the info/ to become a reseller for 3, t-moblie and orange,

My contract with Vodaphone started at end of November. I would like to know if/when FC would have received commission. If Voda have not yet payed the commission to FC, I would then be upset if they refuse to budge.
  • I'm also one of the unfortunates in this saga but I'm taking a slightly mellow view of it. I signed up to get the tariff that I wanted on Tmobile. For the last 10 years I have always had to pay for the monthly line rental. At the moment, I'm paying half price line rental as part of the deal. I was hoping to get my entire year's line rental rebated by FC. That won't be happening. I haven't lost anything- I just haven't gained.
...and then the window licker said to me...

We don't know when the commission is paid, but it is noticable that FC were earlier paying the cashback. Others might be at 6 months or 4, 8, 12 in instalments. Perhaps the commission was similarly paid. If the customer didn't meet the condition to stay on the same tariff, then the commission would be affected, whether instalments or clawback who knows. Were FC taking too great a risk in trusting their customers or was it other problems? I don't think we'll find out.

I might ask T-mobile if I can cancel my contract if I take out another contract with them.

Currently got to pay 9 months at £207 100 mins any network

Same 100 mins tariff on offer T-mobile website for 18months at £256 with free nokia 6230 idea being use new sim card in my nokia 3100 phone and sell the brand new nokia 6230 for £150 hopefully, this would be my missing cashback.

    Is this a good idea?

It's likely that you'll find that you can't cancel the first contract and it's probably too early to upgrade. Even if you could you would destroy your chance that some cashback would come from the receiver.

goat-I just called vodafone on 191, explained the situation, asked if I could downgrade. Guess I was lucky.
As I wanted a new phone I asked about that,as I am paying £30 month for sim only, but they wouldn't offer me a deal on one.
I would've thought watchdog & other consumer rights organisations might have something to say about this, as most current £30 month tariffs offer a free phone, and a good one too,why are we paying them so much?

Sorry but DO NOT TELL your service provider the situation just ask for the upgrade if they know you have a phone from FC they know they have got you by the short n curlys.Any cashback from the receiver is just hopefull

There seem to be 2 people on here called dbs. Good luck whatever you decide to do, but upgrade after 3 months seems unlikely
