Forward Cellular Have Gone Bust

When I phoned them I asked if they had a distributor, was told that they did not, and that that was the cause of the problem0

Gutted to hear about FC liquidating. I'm one of the unfortunates who is or was awaiting a cashback. Does anyone know if I can cancel my contract with Vodafone without any repercussions? As I have not signed a contract with Vodafone, does this mean I am not legally bound to stay with them for the initial agreed 12 months.
Secondly, I was fortunate enough to receive my cashback for my T-Mob deal. Would it not be worthwhile terminating my contract or possibly downgrading my tariff as FC is no longer here to enforce any clawback?0 -
It sickens me that the rights of the consumer are at the bottom of the pile in these matters. Surely the state should look after their citizens? How does looking after their citizens equate with robbing them blind of their money when a company they authorised to do business in this country, pays any of the money it has back to the government and its overseas crediters?
I was one of the very fortunate ones, I was about to sign up for a contract deal with fwcellular last night but the buy button wasn't working on their site so I left it until this evening.
I feel very sorry for those who've been lured into signing up to the cashback terms. I don't care about how much money these cashback deals save consumers, anything which takes important rights away from the consumer to simply enable them to get a great deal, should be outlawed.0 -
As they old saying goes there are only two things certain thats death and taxes!
Shame to see a company go like this, especially one who gave good deals to joe public!I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
i know the question has already been asked but....what do we do next? im a little confused! should all customers awaiting a cashback be expecting this letter saying they have gone bust?
changing the tariff with vodafone before 6 months breaks the contract that was in place with fwdcellular, but does this matter anymore now they have gone bust?0 -

I have a Sim only deal, i.e. it cost me £10 + p&p for the card with a deal for £30/month for 7 months then £15/month for the remaining 5 with cash back to cover the bills. Started just before Xmas.
I sent my claim for £285 back yesterday and got the letter from the Insolvency Practitioners when I got home tonight.
Just got off the phone to Vodafone and they refuse to cancel my contract or downgrade it to £15 (from £30) a month. They will allow me to downgrade after 6 months (June).
I suggested that I may stop payments, they said that they would chase after me and claim the remainder of the contract at the £30/month rate, so effectively it will cost me more to do that, plus there would be other fees involved in chasing me, so it's not worth it.
Vodafone don't seem to have much sympathy for it's customers getting caught up in financial difficulties with it's own authorised re-sellers. The least they could do is allows us to downgrade our contracts if not back out all-together.
Vodafone and the Insolvency Practitioners are the only winners in this game, the rest of us can effectively swivel!

For those of you who paid by credit card, it might be worth contacting them to see if they can help. I don't think the CC company would be obliged to do anything in this case (because the transaction is less than £100) but they may be able to help. There have been cases of people paying being fully reimbursed when paying for the deposit on a transaction by CC and the rest of the balance with cash. While this isn't exactly the same, you still might be able to get something back (although, as I said, I don't think they're obliged to do anything).0

do vodafones contracts actually say you have to remain on the same tariff a minimum of 6 months? i don't think they do, that part was with fwdcellular so vodafone should not be stopping you changing tariff within 6 months. i mean if it was not allowed by vodafone there would have been no need for that clause with fwd.
and i wonder if it would make a difference if everyone affected who wanted to change tariff down got together and put the case to vodafone (don't ask me how!). would be more useful than individual people doing it.0 -
also, i sent my bill to fwd a month ago and also emailed them a copy of my bill with no reply. their email address is not active anymore....is it worth mailing them again to reiterate that they owe in order to get some kind of reply from them regarding the liquidation as others seem to have done?0
