does anyone know when the cheaper tickets are unveiled as east coast are now taking booking for aug but no cheaper tickets at mo

Approximately 12 weeks before travel - but it can be less

    http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/booking_horizons.html

may help - though there can be a lag between the fares being there and it saying so.

The booking date for cheap tickets is on the East Coast home page.
It usually alters and updates about noon on Thursdays.

    What fares have you found?

You are far too early for real bargains.

Look again about twelve weeks before travel.

A Super Off Peak Day Travelcard at £18.60 from Southern Railway's website might be your best option... if they are still available at that price in November.

Been reading about MSE's new app for split tickets. Since I don't have a smart phone or ipad, is there any other way i.e website that allows you to find these split tickets?

    thanks
I use multimatcher lazza which has the tab "bonus if 0-0"

I've been trying since yesterday afternoon to purchase two lots of "Online Advance purchase" tickets for a return trip to London on the 22nd of June taking advantage of the 34% off offer.
But their web site will not let me log in to my account or let me purchase any tickets.
As soon as I either try to "log in" or click on the "Buy rail ticket" section on the web site, about 20 seconds later the problem loading a page come up on the screen because the server is taking too long to respond.
This has happened on both of my computers using two different browsers systems and also happens when I tried to purchase tickets at a friends house on his computer.
All weekend I've had no problems with any other web sites I've visited.

I phoned the Southern Railways contact number twice yesterday, the first time I was told they had no problems with the site.
The second time at about 10:20 pm I was told web site is slow and they'd had a similar problem before when they had offers available.

Anybody else had problems or has anyone actually been able to buy any tickets?
    Val :)

I did see reports of problems with webtis (which Southern use) last night - it was conjectured that a software update had gone wrong
