    Hi,

Wondering if anyone can find me a cheaper fare than the one I have found for around £48.00.

London to Newcastle on the 16th April 2012 - Single

Im flexible with times but would ideally like to arrive into Newcastle around 1pm and don't mind splitting the journey.

    Thanks

    Danielle
Firstly, that £48.00 ticket is available on East Coast trains website for £44.65.

Kings Cross to Sunderland can be done for £29.00 using Grand Central Trains.
The problem with that is that there is only one departure that day at that price... dep Kings Cross at 07:49. arr Sunderland 11:40.
Looks like the time might suit you.

An Anytime Single from Sunderland to Newcastle is £3.10.

    Hi All,

I'm travelling to North Wales in a month or so but as yet I'm not sure whether I'll want to go to Rhyl or Deganwy. The Advanced tickets (from Manchester/Stockport, split after coming from Sheffield - I can't get an Advanced all the way) are the same price to either of these destinations.

Logic would say that I should buy a ticket to Deganwy and travel short and get off early at Rhyl if required. However Rhyl has ticket barriers so will these reject me since I should have gone further, even though the price is the same, or do they in practise accept any ticket to 'North Wales Stations'? Deganwy doesn't have barriers but is a request stop so I'd have to ask the guard to stop at Deganwy upon showing my ticket to Rhyl! Travelling 'long' seems a bit cheekier somehow, even though it's all the same price.

You are taking a great risk not travelling between the two stations mentioned on an Advance Single ticket.

My advice is to get an Advance Single to Rhyl and buy a single ticket from Rhyl to Deganwy if you decide you need one.

Alternatively, delay the purchase of your Advance Single ticket until you know where you are going.
Of course the risk with this is that the price of your ticket may increase.

It's not a particularly good deal - that price will not change between now and the date of departure. It's an open fare.

Have a look at advance single tickets each way rather than a return - you should be able to save a bit on that price - less than £200 is available currently on the right trains

TFL Journey Planner confirms it should only take 11 or 12 minutes from Euston to Waterloo... Direct Northern Line train, no changes.

Even allowing five minutes or so walking at each end means you will have no problem making your connection.

    It will be crowded though.
