Went to the CDL showing of footloose in derby,it was a full screening, many people turned up at 7, after buying snacks without securing a seat first. The film was then started and stopped 1 minute in while they took 15 minutes to turn away the ten people waiting....I wish people would read that its first come first served.
I often wonder about peoples priorities in life.
See a film OR Eat junk food?
I'm not complaining....I have probably got a seat to see a film purely because people who arrived before me were too busy thinking about their stomachs.
I got a seat, they got their food.
Personally, it seems a heck of a lot of effort to drive to cinema, pay for parking, just to buy an overpriced tub of popcorn, stinky nachos and a coke...
But, each to their own.
If it means I get to see the film, and they don't.... who am I to complain:p0 -
Being screened on Weds 19th at Elstree's Big Brother Studio
Check out applausestore, sorry I'm a newbie and get around the link rules0 -
The original version of Footloose starring Kevin Bacon is showing on Film4 on Saturday at 6:55pm and one hour later on +1. :T
Enjoy:cool:
Recorded and watched this last night.
Kevin Bacon - looked fabulous.
Gads but that man looked a fantastic investment..... considering how good he still looks.
Young SJP.....looked very small, as in vertically challenged.
Also recognized several other 'young' faces....inc Dianne Wiest
But all in all it did look very dated.... clothes, music and dancing.
Few changes in the story line, but other sections completely copied line for line.
I didn't think the line "Daddy, I'm not even a Virgin" would be in the original one, but it was, although Ariel was certainly not flashing as much flesh as the 2011 version.....Julianne Hough is much, much more attractive and 'sexy' imo than Lori Singer was - but maybe that was due to the clothes and she was so skinny.
The scene where they go dancing out of town is much better done in the 2011 version, even if it is pop 'line-dancing'
Kevin was the better actor, but must admit Kenny is the better dancer.... just.0 -
Footloose 2011 was given 4/5 by James King (Film Critic)
I have it recorded for a rainy day! (hope more dancing than remake!)
Pssst - Iceland have 6 x 25g multipack Butterkist Toffee Popcorn £1 or 2 for £1.50, not sure of end date.0 -

The reason I posted was to stop the chat. If I had sent a pm, I know for sure that there would have been a string of people chatting in response to the question. Also the person and others don't know about this discussion thread because it moves around with not being a sticky.
After all the crap that has been posted on that thread lately, I doubt my informative post made that much difference!0 -
Thank you to Locky and PrincessJasmine for posting the link to the Natwest preview thing. I saw the help last night and really really enjoyed it. Does anyone know, have Natwest always done this (and i've just never noticed) or is it a new thing?
I loved the relationship between Minnie and Celia - I thought it was wonderful. But the whole film shone.Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100 -
I gave up after half an hour waiting for the technical issues to be sorted out last night at the Natwest screening at West India Quay - just for my own curiosity anyone know what time they eventually showed it?0

This is the first preview screening they have done although RBS got in slightly ahead of them in Scotland.
Was it well attended?0
