Saw Footloose on Sunday I thought I'd seen the original but now I think I may just remember the video to the song or adverts as the story wasn't familiar.
Really enjoyed the remake, in fact I want to see it again now, just the right amount of dancing & story. Go and see it if you can.
It is practically line for line taken from the original. Scenes are extremely similar and most of the songs are the same.0 -

In that case I definately never saw the original, I think its because it was set in Utah & I've been past Lehi Flour Mills which was used in the original, that I think I've seen it, this one is set in Georgia.0 -

I do recommend you see the original starring the awesome Kevin Bacon
Apparently it was on television last week. So may well be repeated soon.;)0 -
The original version of Footloose starring Kevin Bacon is showing on Film4 on Saturday at 6:55pm and one hour later on +1. :T
Enjoy:cool:0 -

I can see many of us setting this to record.
thanks for the heads up.
I'm sure I have seen the original, but it is so long ago I have forgotten,....only the song remains.
Much like Flashdance.
I definitely saw that, but the only bits I remember now are the scenes shown in the music video.
Wasn't there another film in this genre, possibly released a few years later with Patrick Swayze..... Road house ?0 -
Has anyone been to see Machine Gun Preacher yet?
I've got free ticks for Thurs and was wondering if anyone has been yet.
Should be good as long as Gerard Butler takes his top off
It's superb - we saw a test screening back in August and loved it. It's very emotional and moved me to tears on a few occasions.0 -

I caught it on tv not too long ago but very late at night and I am ashamed to say that I fell asleep towards the end

Last asked yesterday and I answered in post 3585.
My response was
Take the printout to the people who take the tickets at the cinema and they will direct you to the appropriate screenroom. Do not go to the box office as they will not be able to help you as advanced screenings are not on their system.
I advise you to get there at least 30 minutes before the film is due to be screened and maybe a little earlier as they are often over subscribed and you are not guaranteed admittance, neither do they guarantee you will get in if you are late.
Quite often in a lot of cinemas you may find you are asked to queue up to get in.
Sometimes Sky ask for I.D. so make sure you have some with you.0 -
