You should never be off by what someone tells you about a film. After all it is only their personal opinion. I will be going to see it again (as I stated). It isn't an easy film to watch and I was distracted.
I didn't say I didn't like it, I said I didn't know what to make of it. Why should that stop you from going to see it. You might love it, you might not but you won't know until you watch it.0 -
The credits at the end put the film in perspective for me with Sam Childers quote about child/family member abduction!
Don't be put off, it was nowhere near as graphic or horrific as it could have been(There were a couple of harrowing scenes but it's what the film is about after all, so it was necessary!), the acting was excellent, I didn't even register the scottish accent I was so engrossed in the film!
Gerard Butler is a fine actor IMHO! Very good portrayal!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Machine gun preacher is a hard hitting, film that is not for the faint hearted. There are no happy endings and there are scenes of child genocide and drug use. It is a biopic of a former junkie hells angel who has serious anger issues. You are made to squirm and feel uncomfortable and they may have given it a hollywood makeover, but there are many gaps in the film and there is no information about where the arms/weapons used actually came from which is probably a political minefield, considering there are regular arms fairs held in Britain and America, which at least could have got a mention in the scheme of things. As it was the film watchers are meant to believe that a small rebel group led by one man that recruits youngsters from remote villages holds so much power that he can just destroy, enslave and mass kill without anyone having any power to stop the carnage? many questions are left unanswered and you come away shocked and uneasy and not with a high opinion of the lead character.0

Also, it doesn't actually say anywhere on the site or the email confirmation how many people thinks allows entry for........
Any ideas ?
EDIT : Just re-read the site and each person attending needs to register on the booking site !!0 -
Went to the CDL showing of footloose in derby,it was a full screening, many people turned up at 7, after buying snacks without securing a seat first. The film was then started and stopped 1 minute in while they took 15 minutes to turn away the ten people waiting....I wish people would read that its first come first served.0
