i have 2 tickets for a free showing tonight and i want to give them to a friend, however they have my name on... do you think i could just change the name on the ticket before printing it, or will the cinema have a list to go off? Don't want them to be refused at the door lol!!
any advice would be much appreciated x
NEVER tamper with the name on the ticket! If it has been issued by Showfilmfirst follow the instructions on their website and request a change of name email.:(0 -

Yes sometimes they go by a list so best to change the name with ShowFilmFirst beforehand.0 -

I just want to add to the excellent advice you have already received from Pooch.
The premiere to HP part 2 10 days ago was the first time ever I have been asked for i.d
I have just printed off the latest tickets I have for Mr Poppers Pengins, and it says on the email:-
"Please ensure that you have everything you need to validate the ticket – ie: take ID to the cinema with you. Also, for some media promotions you are required to also take the page or voucher printed in the promotion. Entry could be denied if you don’t have this if required in the Terms and Conditions"
Again I have never been asked for the newspaper before.... but since there seems to be an increasing number of people using forgeries, perhaps proof of i.d and checking off lists and expecting 'qualifying' papers/magazine to be presented will become the norm.
I went out and bought the paper (not even bothered reading it yet!). It cost £1 - which will make for a very cheap night out for 4 people.... so there is really no excuse.
I have had dozens of free preview tickets over the years, and equally 'missed out' on dozens.
I have never taken the view that I have a God-given right to get into a preview, even if I have bought the paper or magazine.
These FREE tickets are a perk, which millions of people would be delighted to receive, if they had a chance.
There seems to be quite a few newbies around (Welcome:wave:) so perhaps this is an opportunity for a few tips to them and a timely reminder to oldies.
1) Please do not book tickets for a film which you really don't want, or intend to see...... just on the off-chance you can give them to one of your family or friends. There may be people who really do want to see it who will be missing out.
2) As soon as you realise you will not be able to make the preview, do email SFF or whoever, and let them know you will not need the tickets - so they can be offered out again.
3) If you are desperate to see a preview, never give up trying the codes.... even up to and including the day/afternoon/evening of the screening. Last minute cancellations do happen.
4) When there are lots of Previews around, times and days can clash, so again, think before you book tickets for every preview you possibly can. Can you actually get to them all?
5) I would also ask to Please do not use forgeries or print out several copies of your tickets, but those people who do will not be influenced by any sense of guilt, so it would be pointless. I will add that it is possibly as a result of forgeries/duplicates that even when you do have a genuine ticket, there is no guarantee of actually getting into the screening.
Therefore, get there as early as practical, and do not be annoyed at the need for id and papers/magazine - at least it means the forgers will not be getting in.
6) If you do find your screening way over subscribed, and you are one of dozens turned away from a screening well before the start time you may well be offered free tickets by the cinema to see something else that night/day, or for another day. If not offered do ask.
If the cinema refuse to let you see something else or give you tickets for another time, contact SFF, Virgin , Disney etc. to inform them. I have received tickets in the past from Disney and others when the cinema moved the screening to a smaller screen without informing Disney.
Last of all, I hope you enjoy your preview, it is a great way to see films you would not normally go and pay to see. Do come back to this discussion thread to give feedback on the screening to help those less fortunate decide whether to spend money to see the film.... without of course disclosing too much of the story line.;)0 -

the reason they emailed some people about a change in date was that they had oversubscribed for tomorrow, those who didnt get emails notifying them of a date change like myself are still going on the 19th
it could be that because you went on Saturday your no longer on the list and the reminder is sent out automatically, like the questionaires0 -
can anyone please tell me do i go early to men arena to get my tickets... by early i mean ..2 pm ?/ maybe?? or do they not open that early
thanks,,
sorry for the batman show...0 -

Hi,
I too am a VIP member, but i've not heard anything either! I got the code for Horrible Bosses off of here. As now they have added the bit that states you need to bring media code vouchers with you, can some one tell me where this code came from? The code is "Horrible" for Empire Poole. thanks0 -

Nothing has been added. It has always been the case that a newspaper or magazine page is sometimes required but it will say if that is the case.
The only one that currently states that you need to take a page with you is the code for Mr Popper's Penguins and the Mail on Sunday from Sunday 17th July.
Ask questions by all means but please don't start a panic where people think something new has happened when it hasn't.
If you want to know where the code has been issued, check the ticket as it generally has the name of the sponsor on it for example Grazia or Mail on Sunday.0 -
