Us grand parents didnt have the choices there is today, so I think thats why we make the offer to pay for them.

I dont know if my Daughter wants to have one yet, but I will respect her wishes of course I will.

I'm not pg, but have children. It was availabe when I had my 2 youngest, I was fine knowing the sex, but I think 4d scans are a little too much of a window into the womb for my liking.

You are right though, it is an individual choice, but IMHO I think those sort of scans should really be for diagnostics.

I know several people wo have had them, and a couple were actually really disapointed they did it, it was a little too clear and a huge anti-climax for them. Of course it depends on how you daughter views it, and in all likelihood, she will jump at the chance with it being her first!

Op ss sweetie I missread, I thought you were waiting a happy delivery lol. As for my Daughter she is a bit like yourself, I will surprised if she wants one. Lol as I said its us grandparents, What we like.

No, I think my baby making days are over! We're moving into the teen years with the first, which is enough to put me off starting again lol!

I think she'll love the offer, then wait and see! Don't worry my mum was the same, and I loved her for it, although kitting my DD out with outfits for the first 18 months when I was 20 weeks pg was a bit overwhelming lol

I am currently pregnant with my last baby and i would love to have a 3d or 4d scan done. I cannot afford it tho -Your daughter will love it, as will you i'm sure x

EA I was going to ask you if you're scan pics look like the real Lily iykwim? When she was born, did you feel you'd seen her before?

OH & MIL were talking about getting us a 3d scan with V, but i'm a bit freaked out by them!

I was extremely poorly when I was pregnant with my third and they thought my baby might have problems. They tried to do a brain scan while she was in the womb, but due to her position they were not able to do the brain scan.

However as a freebie as I'd been through so much and was worried sick, they did a quick free 4D scan. It was very surreal as it was like baby pictures of me had been pinned on the screen.

She was born and had a brain scan and thankfully there was nothing wrong. She is my double though and my parents say it's like having the same child all over again, and people always comment that she couldn't be anyone elses but mine as she is so similar.

I personally didn't get one because I have seen friends ones and they look like scary monster babies to me (obviously they are cute in real life). I much prefer my blurry black and white photo! Personal choice I guess. If you want one get one, there's no harm in it. You get used to people disapproving of everything you do when you're a mother anyway.

Im not sure, sometimes she did sometimes she didn't. She mostly frowned at the scan so when she frowned in RL it looked the same

i had a 4d & it was fantastic
i took my dd 13 & ds 8 to see it and they were amazed
& the scan does look like my daughter i think:)
i think its lovely of the op & im sure your daughter will be over the moon xx
