Yes, I have... 'Darling, I love you more than ever...we have gone through so much together, but we are over the worst and I know you will achieve what you want... you are the best'... intended to my boyfriend after a particularly steamy session and when he had some work trouble, but sent to my masters degree classmate by mistake: we were put to work together for six months on a project and we were reaching the end of it. His then girlfriend (a feisty Russian) saw it and I'll never forget how she looked at me when she walked in on us hunched over the computer trying to finish the editing of a film for our final project... I didn't get it at the time, but he then explained it was all due to that text...

My oh and I are very good friend with my classmate, still today and we often laugh at it... but I was mortified then!

I've been on the rec'ing side of a wrong text!

A guy i had been out on a third date with sent a message to me saying that he had a fab night and he couldn't wait to see me again, sweet dreams etc. I then rec'd another which was along the lines of "Hi Auntie, i had a fab night i think i love her" I was horrified as it was a) so soon b) i didn't really like him!

Needless to say i told him i didn't want to see him again!

I sent an email slating the training we had received at work back to the trainer instead of to my mate as intended. Fortunately I had been blunt on my course feedback sheet so whilst I was hideously embarrassed that the trainer got to see the sarcastic fullness of my disappoinment at least I wasn't telling her anything new.



When hubby and I were engaged he sent me a text saying 'On my way home Wifey' but sent it to his ex-wife!!! She forwarded it to me saying 'I think this was meant for you' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My story isn't about a text but an Instant Message. My OH bought a new laptop and after we had set it up and installed the various programs I was sending him IM's even though we were both sat on the same sofa.:o A little while later I got ready to go up to my mums for a drink and then went back on the computer for a minute. I sent him another IM asking if he fancied a quickie and then sat sniggering to myself. He asked me what I was laughing at but then never mentioned the message. I then forgot about it and went to my mums. When I got their she asked me why I was sending rude messages to her.:eek: I was mortified. She thought it was hilarious but I'm so glad she read it and not my dad. :eek:

Apparently staff in a local call centre were issued with bluetooth camera phones when they first came out. One of the girls went into the toilets and took some photos to send to her bf. Unfortunately the bluetooth settings was wrong and it went to the entire staff at the same time....

A bit of very juicy gossip had been doing the rounds about one of our group. I’d heard it and then passed it on…

A couple of days later the girl who was being gossiped about texted me and asked me if it was me that had started the rumour.

I didn’t want to admit who had told me, but I especially didn’t want to admit passing the information on, so I typed out

“No- not me telling everyone. Kate told me and seems to be telling the whole world as well- she’s a gobby mare”

Needless to say- I sent the message to Kate. This was made worse by the fact that it was also me who had told Kate the gossip in the first place :rotfl:

Karma! I promise I’m a much nicer person now- this was when I was very young and daft…

The worst text faux pas I’ve heard of was from somebody who took ‘lol’ to mean ‘lots of love’ She heard that her friend’s mother had passed away, and didn’t want to call round and intrude, so decided to send a quick text which would be followed up with a call when she got home

“Hi xxxxx - sorry about your Mum lol” :eek:

Yes! A very embarassing one at that.....

My boyfriend at the time was called Dave and so is my stepdad, I sent a picture message of my boobs (how embarassing - i was young!! lol) to my step dad which was actually meant for my boyfriend!!!
I made out that i got sent this pic and just forwarded it to my step dad for a laugh?!?!? Thank god he has a personality....i think he believed me, just! lol
