Yes I sent a very graphic sexual message to my Dad! It was intended for my dh of course, the first 2 letters of my DH's name is DA....... hence the mistake! I know he got it, as I got a delivery report, it was never mentioned but I always feel slightly uncomfortable now ha ha!

Same thing happened to me and it was only when i got the delivery report that i realised what i had done. My dad has never mentioned it but i couldn't look him in the eye for a long time :rotfl:. Still cringe when i think about it and it happened several years ago :o

  • I am mortified.

I have sent a text message intended for my hubby to someone else by mistake. It's NOT 'that' type of message but I'm just devastated. When I've got over it a bit I'll explain what I did but in the meantime does anyone have a story of a text message/email accidently ending up in the wrong hands to make me feel better?! :o

Not a text msg .. but I used to work in an open plan office and the new team leader was a right b!tch; no one liked her. One of my friends msn'd me to slag her off but inadvertently put the team leaders name in instead of mine and the team leader got an instant message from my colleage completely slagging her off. You can imagine what followed!
  • You think what you did was embarrasing imagine get a rude text message from your dad meant for his girlfriend - yuk!!!!!!!
I have also slagged someone off who was sat opposite me and accidently sent it to her instead of my partner! We didnt speak again!

Yup, only a few weeks ago I sent a message to a male friend instead of my OH (same name). He text me straight back to say 'I think that was meant for your (name) lol' and I just laughed it off as well. No biggie.

It wasn't a test, but when I was younger I spent my entire train journey back from work on the phone to my best friend !!!!!ing about another girl in the office and how bad she was at her job.

Didn't know until the next day that her best friend was in the same carriage :o

I was once kind of seeing this guy, we'd had a bit of a snog and then i'd realised i didn't fancy him. I sent a message to him telling him i was sorry blah de blah and i wasn't ready for a relationship and i sent one to my best friend saying how i didn't fancy him and that snogging him had made me realise etc. I sent the messages to the wrong people.:o He never spoke to me again.

I still cringe about this next one 6 years later. :o My eldest Son was about 7 and wanted to text his Dad. I gave him my mobile to use and he sent a message saying how much he missed him and would like to see him more often and was upset that he didn't make much effort. He sent it to my Dad instead and before i had the chance to tell him it was a mistake he'd replied saying he was sorry and would like to see more of me as well. I didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't me who sent it. I see my Dad a few times a year and we're not very soppy usually. The next day he turned up to see me and he never just pops in.:o

Well I learned the hard way not to have two MSN windows open at the same time. I was once chatting to my husband in one window and a work college in another - and I got the two windows mixed up. Needless to say, the work college found it highly amusing...

Also, I found out a while back that I'd got hubby's email address wrong - his has a dash in (i.e. xxx-yyy@zzz.com), whereas I'd been sending his emails to xxx.yyy@zzz.com for some time. Hubby had been quite puzzled about why I never sent him any emails during the day - but whoever owned the xxx.yyy@zzz.com must have been extremely puzzled about the emails he was getting. Mainly stuff like "dearest hubby could you please stop off at Tesco on the say home blah blah". Whoever it was never replied, but I cringe to think what he must think of the crazy loon that seemed to think she was his wife...
  • Oh dear OP, hope you are getting some comfort from all these stories - I've done this 3 times myself (thought I'd have learnt by now!) and one of those was this week... all turned out OK but am still comforted to learn am not alone.

My 3 were all classics - first was a good few years ago, wrote an angry text to my best friend slagging off my boyfriend at the time, and sent it to him. Realised immediately what I'd done, called him and garbled an explanation, getting myself in a right state, only for him to tell me he hadn't recieved the message coz his phone couldn't accept two-msg texts (long time ago! lol) so he just laughed it off, thank God.

Second time was the best - sent an email to a colleague at work warning him our boss was gunning for him over a mistake that was actually her fault and I wrote, "The !!!!! is on the warpath" among other things. He didn't reply until hours later... when I had just put my Out of Office on as it was Friday and was about to take the afternoon off as the start of a long weekend's holiday, so all my emails automatically went to my boss... including my original email calling her a !!!!! etc!! She said, "Thanks for that," and at first I didn't twig and just said "No problem" then saw her face like thunder, looked at my Inbox and realised what she'd just read!

Totally panicked and she went silent, so I just shut down my PC, got up and left with a very quiet, "See you Monday" greeted by more silence! Thankfully I had already handed in my notice on this job (coz the boss was a !!!!!! :rotfl:) and by the time I returned from my long weekend on Mon night, a letter was waiting for me from the CEO saying he didn't want to see me in the office again and I would be paid for my last two weeks of notice but would not have to go into work! A friend cleared my desk for me and never had to see my boss again so it worked out well all round!

Third time just this week was similar to the first, was slagging off a work colleague to a friend by text and sent it to the work colleague... she text back with, "Was that meant for me?" and I realised what I'd done... so texted back admitting the mistake (no getting out of it!) apologising, saying if she wanted I'd move desks etc but hoped she'd forgive me when she was next in work 3 days later... and thankfully, she did!

Hope you're as lucky with the outcome of your text mistake as I've been with mine OP!

    Venus xxx
