Neighbour blocking my drive

3 Simple steps to resolve this.
- If I were in your position, I would first put up a 'Disabled: No Parking Please' Signpost.
- If that still doesn't work, then you write them a formal letter ordering them to comply with your notice or legal action will be taken.
- If that still doesn't work, go to your local county court and ask the reception clerk for an application for an injunction (easy to fill in) and file for an injunction.
Pretty flawed plan, firstly you cant go round putting up signs wherever you feel like it and even if you did they would have no legal clout.0 -

On the contrary, the law on signage is a very large chapter.;)
I'm sure it is but in this case the obstructing vehicle is legally parked outside the owners property, on the other side of the road from the complainant. So how do you suggest the affected person goes about declaring a section of the public highway a no parking zone, digging up the pavement to erect said sign and carry out enforcement of it?
Maybe it could be done, maybe not but it would certainly not be, in your words, "a simple step".0 -
Many thanks again guys - just to reiterate there is ALWAYS a car or van in the space! I have a dropped kerb and a 10ft entrance and still cannot get car in drive, I have taken pics but have difficulty blocking out the detail on the van to publish (don't want people calling the git)!!
anyhow called council this morning and they have reported it to the roads department and they said someone will be out to have a look - so fingers crossed0 -
Good luck, maybe you could take some pics during the day, when there is a car in the space to avoid any "publicity" for the van owner/driver.0

10ft wide and you cannot get it in? How wide is the pathway?
Picture pointing down the road just catching the van, But no personal info showing would clarify it
for everyone and explain your position better.
Mate had to demolish his front wall & drive partly across his grass because his driveway was right next to
a bus stop & people wouldnt let him through. Bit of an extreme action though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

if you have a 4x4, any chance you can go up on the kerb and get in once in a very ugly way, then he would be blocking you on your drive? perhaps there might be room to do that when the car is there, but not when the van is there? then you would have no choice but to ask him to move to let you out (presumably for something important like a medical appointment?!), or call the police for assistance if he refuses/isn't there....?!:happyhear0
