Shocking immature behaviour of this man and his puppet family.. running around at his beck and call to Hog an illegal parking slot... if it wasn't so sad, it'd be hilarious...
I would absolutely start keeping a video diary, and let the Police and council sort this out for you.
It will get Ugly honey.. there is a Re-action to every Action... so be careful..

The thing is strictly speaking its not illegal to park on the road, providing there is road tax and insurance on all the vehicles, the police in my opinion will just say its a civil matter or words to that effect, and the council will be powerless to act, though I thought I read on here about parking on pavements being not allowed? Maybe that could be one for the council?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Can I ask if you drive a large car? While the road is narrow, I assume that it is wide enough for cars to pass?
I'm guessing that as you have gates there are also posts and that maybe the entrance to your drive is quite narrow?
The issue here is that he is not parking directly across your driveway - therefore you still have access.
Someone once had a go at me for where I had parked. I was parked completly up the pavement across the drive of a friends house. Guy opoosite comes over and starts having a go saying I'm blocking his drive and his wife cant get out. Buses come down this road every 5 mins without any trouble and while I'm agrueing with this guy in the background his wife has reversed off the drive and driven off - so how was I blocking his drive! More a case of his wife couldnt drive very well.
I'm not saying that what this guy is doing is right, its just that without knowing more details its hard to know if its a case of him being nasty or your driving ability.0 -
OP I'm struggling to visualise why a van of the size of a transit parked on the opposite side of hte road is preventing your use of your driveway. Do you drive a particularly big/long car which means you can't get it turned or is the road very narrow??
Is access totally blocked or is parking difficult? if difficult is it just difficult for you?? Not meaning to be cheeky but if you are not used to having a drive could you do with a brush up on your reversing skills?MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
I drive a 4x4, yes its a big car, which I drive particulary well. I have been driving 25+ years and can reverse etc without any problems. I have a dropped kerb, a gate on the drive - without his van being there, I could easily reverse into the drive. my sister who has a little clio and friend who has a fiesta also cannot get into my drive - so its not the size of car but the fact we cannot swing the car into position because of the van parked. Yes cars can get down the road when his van is parked but his van takes up half the road.
wish i could set the thing on fire but not that kind of girl0 -
Can you provide a picture of some sort? I'm not calling you a liar but I'm finding it very hard to visualise a road thats wide enough for cars to still get past when someone is parked but not wide enough to swing on to a drive...0

Same here - enough room to drive past yet couldn't get a fiesta or clio onto the drive? Doesn't make any sense to me.
I assume there is also a pavement outside your house?
Maybe a photo would help?0 -
I don't know why you are all having such trouble visioning the problem.
I have a similar problem - but not with people parking opposite, but with people parking too close to the dropped kerb on both sides of our drive. There simply isn't room to safely swing round into the drive, because the road is narrow.
I presume that the OP is unable to swing out of their drive, because their drive/gateway is relatively narrow compared to the width of their car. If their drive was far wider - similar to the gap between the parked cars outside our house being wider - then they could swing round without going as far across the road.0
