more than slightly fed up that my delivery hasn't come. There's not that much snow. Pathetic how we grind to a halt with an inch of snow, yet Finland etc manage just fine with several feet of it
Just the cherry on the cake today, mighty fed up here. Hope you are all having a better day! Can't get used to it being so quiet on here the last week or so. Hope it means we're all busy getting decent orders (that don't get delivered to us!)Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
I dont tend to use the small bags, I find the medium and large bags best, and they are big enough to put the next brochure in too, I think you get 50 in a pack if I remember rightly
I keep all sized bags in stock - the mini ones I tend to use for free gifts (used to gift wrap them but a bag stapled closed with a note as to why you're giving it is much quicker) and for keeping the smaller make-up items together rather than just letting them get mixed up amongst the larger bath/shower products. The large bags I tend to use mostly because you can seal everything in (carrier bags can fall over in the car and the contents tipple out...) and they look neater than the medium ones i.e. if you fold over the top and staple a copy of the order and a little 'thank you for your order' note to it.
Yes, you're quite right - all paper bags come in 50's but the carrier bags are priced each (3p for medium, 6p for large). Incidentally, the carrier bags - turned inside out - are useful for posting Avon products. I tend to use two to give added strength. Cheaper than buying plastic envelopes, more protective than paper envelopes (especially if you use the bubble wrap from old padded envelopes sent to you) and easier to pack i.e. you're not limited re. size. :TMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I am an Avon customer and I have tried the Ideal Shade (cream to powder, and liquid types) Calming Effects and Anew (liquid and cream compact).
My shade is always natural beige. My fave is the Anew liquid foundation for great, even coverage and a fab moisturising effect. As a backup I keep the Anew compact for touch ups but although it gives a thicker coverage I think it shows up dry skin more than the liquid.
The Anew retails at £15 but sometimes they do offers £9 each or even 2 for £15. Once you know your shade then it is approx £8 delivered from ebay
Hmm... Wonder if word got back to Avon. In C3 they're having their big 'Foundation Swap' scheme i.e. customers can swap whatever foundation they normally use (even if nearly empty) and try any Avon foundation for £4! :TMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I was wondering with the foundation swap whether Avon will expect us to return loads of swapped bottles to them? In the brochure the items are priced at full price or £4. The only way we can prove we're entitled to the £4 one is to send a swapped bottle back. That would cause a massive headache for Avon to have to get rid of them, though. Do businesses have to pay extra for their rubbish?I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.
I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

nope it states we don't have to return the foundations to avon - just dispose of them ourselves....so I'm going to tell my customers they can order at the cheaper price *without* having to return a foundation - should boost sales and saves me ending up with a load of foundations that I've got to dispose of.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Someone on facebook has said it isn't the carriers as such in your area - its the depot that sends that stuff out and the fact that other areas have had problems with the weather so I think they'd have to "borrow" carriers from other areas, pushing back deliveries for other people by one day so that they can catch up on areas that are a week or so behind.
This country just isn't designed for the weather - we don't have the chains for our tyres etc, and people aren't willing to clear their own street - thankfully this time people in our street all (well a few!) cleared a bit & put grit down so our street was ok, in January it was awful, you couldn't get up it! my sisters street though, she spent hours in the freezing cold trying to clear some, not one person came out to help, and nobody else gritted at all, even though shes friends with most of her neighbours!
Thankfully my delivery came today - we've had hardly any snow, though there was a good covering at work 40miles away!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
One of my Assessors is from Scandinavia and he said that in Scandinavia they don't put salt or grit down, each person clears the snow away from outside their house and path as soon as it falls, so the pavements are clear and the roads are cleared, that is how they cope.
And it is so true, if we all just cleared the bit outside our house, what a difference it would make to the whole street. And if your neighbour is elderly or disabled, if you did it for them. But I suppose we as a culture have never been taught this, so hard to make people do it.0 -
We have also bought 80% of the Christmas dinner (which is now in the freezer - if there is someone up above, please let Iceland's cook-from-frozen joints be a roaring success!!!).
If thats the Iceland turkey crown then you'll be okay. Nice and moist without faffing about for days to defrost. Whip out of the freezer, throw in the oven for a few hours and hassle-free Christmas dinner. We had one last weekend when dad came round for his Christmas Dinner with us (go to MIL's on Christmas Day).
Mind you, getting another one in the freezer just in case too much snow to get to MIL (shame). Nice and handy for an emergency.

I thought as much with the foundations - but having the full-priced option had thrown me and I didn't want to be stuck paying the higher "your cost". It didn't seem that odd that Avon would make things more complicated than they need to be
I see from Connects that the scales offer is causing confusion amongst customers and reps already. My customers don't seem that into the free gifts and offers. The SSS 5 for £5 was very popular but they were all on one page. I find that if the free gift they're entitled to is on a different page to the items they're buying, most don't spot it. I'm often relieved they don't because of the stock problems you get.
Lost that customer that moved. I texted to say I could still drop a brochure but she said no thanks. She ordered most times and spent £10-30 each time, and no problems with collecting brochure and delivering. Oh well, I asked the new people but they said no.

Doesn't look like I will get C1 delivery today either
and one customer had ordered make-up for her birthday bash tonight. Typical really! New customer as well and she is a parent at the school so did well to get her to start with  It will probably turn up when I'm out now and get returned . I'm not so much peeved it hasn't come, more than they haven't been in contact. Would be that much effort to email people really and say your delivery will not be on x date. We will update you. Wanted to go out yesterday, but if it had come there was noone nearby to take it.
Vent over!! Hope other people are receiving deliveries ok. Am gonna take my c2 books to the pub today as that's where everyone goes when it snows, take advantage of a captive audience!!! Worth a tryand a fine excuse to sit by the fire in the pub!!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0
