i have two shower radios if you want them? a customer ordered them in c17 but they were oos, then when she read c18 saw the cheaper price and asked if she could pay that price, so i ordered 2 more in c18 with the intention of returning the 2 from c17 at the higher price. all 4 turned up in c18 so if you want one i can send one to you?

Aww Cutiepie that would be excellent! Tell you what, let me check with the customer when I deliver the rest of her order (probably tomorrow if it arrives OK) that she's happy to wait a few days, and if so I'll get back to you if that's all right? I'd just need the one so if anyone else is short then maybe it might help them out too. Thank you so much! :D

Re Customer freebies - the 5 for £5 Skin So Soft items from C18 appears to be about the best of the bunch at the moment - £3.75 to you, so 75p per item. I've ordered two sets with a view that they can either be customer freebies, or can be sold on later if customers order at full price. The demo lip balms from HT at 65p each also caught my attention but of course you can only get one of each of those.

I finally got lucky on the Planet Spa stuff I was hoping for this time - at the eleventh hour got an order from a customer who wanted just one item at £5.50 - so have ordered another two bits on the 3 for £6 for myself! :D Also had two odd haircare items ordered so was able to grab a new hairbrush (desperately needed!) for 25p. Am slowly convincing OH that doing Avon is a good idea as it is going to save us money.....!

I feel awful but have to go to work as desperately need money for Jan. Am doing a bit of networking which is why I am still up, am going to check my nectar account, but I don't think it worked.

It does say in the Nectar Rewards T&C that the points can take up to 28 days to credit
  • Awww so annoying, I have bought business cards, flyers, pens and fridge magnets with my FB address on to get people to join and now FB are deleting business pages that are set up as profiles! :(

Ok I'm going to be really really mean now... and apply my BG hat :(
Ladies (and gents) - it's not permitted to offer or request things on the boards - this is for the board users safety and not to be spoilsports - but it's to stop people exchanging personal details on here. There are some people who are very vulnarable and as a result no matter how well meaning an offer is then it really shouldn't be posted...
Now that said I'm going to assume that you all adhere to that rule and I just imagine any following offers of stock etc ;)

I've done exactly the same :( surely that's just stupid on FB's part though? I know loads of pubs etc that have a profile. How are they going to police it realistically?

Idea!! Is it possible to set up a profile (normal name) and change the IM screen name to your avon page name? Would this help?

** where did you hear this? I have googled and it's not coming up??** didn't think of this til after I posted!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???
  • Hiya,
I applied yesterday afternoon on the website to become an avon rep, just wondering how long it takes before you hear anything back about it?
    Thanks Ellie x

Apparantly they are in the process of deleting profiles that aren't actual names, there are some new rules floating about somewhere but I cant find the new ones, if you go to the help bit it does say that they will delete nprofiles that arent a person though :(

I suppose what I could do is change my "name" on the profile to my name in which case the address would still be the same because I set it as that, but, it also says if you have multiple accounts they will be deleted so I may have to put it in my maiden name. Also a pain because people searching for Avon in my area wont find it Grrr

don't panic yet. I know facebook detects certain manufactured names due to people using extra profiles to flout rules eg on the games on fb they can use another profile to help them along so to speak. When it detects them, it won't allow the profile to be set up in the first place.

If all else fails and you do have to change it - put in your newsletter / note attached to your books "please register your email address with me if you would like to add me on facebook or receive eco-friendly e-brochures instead of your paper copy"

You can edit however you choose. I use the eco-friendly line to reduce the number of books I need as well as for f&f who don't live as close.

What about putting your name with the name you use for your avon profile in brackets - like people do with maiden names etc? That is if this does come about...

  • Quick question.....I am waiting for my order to be delivered today - we aren't on the list of disrupted deliveries, but I notice that on the order tracking my order still shows as "prepared" rather than saying it's with the courier - is this usual? A bit worried I'm going to waste a day sitting here doing nothing now!
