I think I told them that I needed to give the courier detailed directions as we were on a new estate and the postcode isn't on sat nav. I'd try that if I were you - the call centre will have no idea whether you are telling the truth or not.

Otherwise does your SL or ASM know?
  • :rotfl: .......in fact, unless you are in PC & have the UK helpline, they'll have no idea, full stop :p.

Not their fault, as I doubt we'd know too much about how things work in India, but frustrating for all concerned.

Have just changed my tel nos with Avon to take off my landline. OH was at home yesterday and had 5 calls from Avon (they wouldn't say what it was about but I suspect it was moneymaker!!), and each time he told them I wouldn't be in until 5:30pm at the earliest.

He was a bit p'd off to say the least ...
  • ....and talking of 'PC', my previous post wasn't meant in any way to be offensive, but simply to highlight the fact that it is difficult to be truly knowledgable about the way things work somewhere so far away - hence their difficulty, a while back, in answering my question about VAT.

can you scan your invoices and e-mail them to Avon to prove that you ordered C17, not C16? I used to have a fax number for them but not sure where it is now.

Can you ask your ASM to speak to them on your behalf? sometimes it takes talking to someone at a higher level, to get a bit of sense and sort things out!

Thanks for the advice Aureol, but my ASM is really hard to get hold of at the moment. The last email I had from her, she said she was on sick leave, but didn't say whether she would be back soon or not.

On a positive point though, just had a reply from my email regarding the brochures and they have now realised that the brochures were missing and have applied a credit to my account. :j We got there in the end, just hope this doesn't happen again!

She probably thought you meant putting through 2 separate orders such is why she said no - but you can do a current order with some products on a backorder with no problem, I've done it that way for over a year and a half.

Thanks Loza - that makes perfect sense now. I will use my C16 to finish canvassing my new territory and my new C17 for addresses I have already done.

This thread is such a great help.

Thanks to all who kindly and willingly share their expertise on here.:T
  • Question about brochures. I was told by my SL that I should order C17 and C18 brochures when I put my C16 order in. Will I get charged for the C18 brochures this campaign or next? With the £7.50 admin fee and C17 brochures, if I order C18 brochures and get invoiced this campaign it will eat all of my profit and I will end up owing Avon money on top.

I only ever order the campaign brochures that are highlighted on the order form. So in campaign 16 I would order campaign18. If this is your first campaign the sl should give you the campaign 17 brochures free.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

My head is buzzing with ideas at the moment - going to host a party with all the mums I haven't seen for ages in Nov - just in time for Xmas. For C17 I have ordered (from HT) one of the make your own gift baskets and have stapled flyer to front of book saying 'Win £24.75 worth of Gorgeous Avon Goodies - Just spend £20 or more in Brochure 17 for your free entry into this prize draw'. Have got them all ready to go and just annoyed that I go on holiday in 2 day for a week so will have to wait until I get back to deliver them!!!

Fab ideas! bet you'll do great! Love the basket idea. Mind if I borrow that one? ;) (if I get enough territory that is still on the look out!)
