I've not been on the forum for a while so apologies if this subject has been covered recently.
Does anyone do one-stop selling? If so, how do you find it? I'm thinking about doing it myself since winter is now upon us I don't want to be going out any more than I have to.
I'm a bit worried that it would be Avon overload if I give out the next brochure before my customers have received the order from the previous brochure. Also, some of my customers aren't very well trained and I generally have to go back twice. Do you think if I did the one-stop selling this may make them better at putting the order in when I say I'm coming to collect?
Any comments will be much appreciated.
Thanks, Steph
H Steph,
I don't do one-stop selling in the way that I think it is meant normally. But instead with some of my customers in France, I tend to drop off a brochure with their order, then if they do want anything from the next book, they will email me their order. This way I only have to go and visit them once. This might work for some of your customers who have email, but then you would only be able to use those books once in the campaign.
My husband has also posted brochures through letterboxes of customers before they had their order delivered. It reminded them to get in contact with him about their order and they also had their order for the next brochure ready for when he went to deliver their order. I would try it with a few customers and see how it goes
hope this helps.

Stephb - One Stop Selling - apart from the concerns about getting books back (like you, I still have stragglers every time) - making it hardly "one-stop" I was also thinking about the wait people would have for their order. If the customer looks at the book straight away they have to wait 3 weeks to give it back to you, then another 3 weeks until those goods are delivered. Even if you looked at your book towards the order deadline, you'd still be waiting 3-6 weeks for things. When you're not doing one-stop selling you only wait 1-3 weeks.
I think it was on here that someone pointed out customers seeing the things they ordered in C18, for example, cheaper in C1 and then wanting to get them at the reduced price.
The main reason I decided not to do it was that it wouldn't be one-stop unless everybody was ordering every time, therefore in for delivery so you see them face to face, so you definitely get your book back. Plus not everyone will be available on delivery day so you might have to go back anyway.
Those were all consI'm sure there are people out there who do one-stop and it works well for them. All depends on your customers and how much you're prepared to spend (time and money (you'll only get 1 use per book per campaign)). I don't even know if you'd be able to use books twice by doing backordering - you'd need the books from your "current" customers, then you'd have to prep them for your backorder customers. I suppose you could do current customer deliveries on one day, then do backorder customers the next so you can prep books in between. Thinking out loud there... Like I said hopefully someone who does one stop will come along and say how they run it.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Minigirl - was the street you thought was yours (and hopefully still is
) one of the streets you got when you first signed up? I noticed that, of the streets I got when I started, I've had problems with all of them.
Street 1: already done by someone else
Street 2: was still free when I asked for some territory a few weeks later
Streets 3, 4, and 5: still free when I got some streets to do an expired brochure drop on. They'd been vacant all that time since I started even though they were written down by the ASM in my Say Hello to Tomorrow (big a4 book they give you on sign-up).
ASM marked them as taken soon after telling her about it, so it worked out, but I don't know if there's some sort of problem registering streets when a rep's new?I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Thanks for your reply.:) I can't really knock on doors as there's a security door to the building and then there's another security door for every four flats. I would have to use the buzzer thing to ask them, although even that would be a challenge as they don't all seem to be on there and most of the numbers have come off.M May11 55886.810 -
Chazolate - Yep guess you would be there forever lol
I, Geek - Had my road since I moved onto it just over a year ago and had to change Avon areas. Wouldn't mind but my ASM was just saying how well I was doing blah blah blah. Just waiting for an email back from her as have mis-placed her number lol0 -

I would print a little note, possibly with a sale brochure (little insert type one) and put one in each letter box just as the postman does. Give your contact details and when you will collect order if left out, and maybe get a mention in about free gift/ special offer as a temptation. HTH :AStill looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
i was wondering what are the best type of samples to buy, should i buy one of the packets that have a bit of eveything, such as the £20 pack or the special £12.50 pack or should i just get a few individual packs from the sample page
what has been the best buy for you?0 -

I'm also doing a Christmas fayre! Eeek! So excited and nervous! Never done anything like it! Thinking of having little baskets of samples or something, maybe a tin of choccies, some demo products as well as some clearance stuff they can buy on the spot and some books, order forms and business cards. What are you doing?
Thanks for your replies ladies. Guess I am going to have to try ordering the demo again and see. Would be very handy if I can order it twice
chasingsunshine, I know exactly how you are feeling. I haven't put much thought into it yet as it was only confirmed yesterday. I know there are loads of hints and tips at the start of this thread so I intend sitting down for a few hours tonight/tomorrow and reading through. I will defo have a £1 basket though and am going to get a few Wrap your own gift baskets to make up as well as lots of other gifts and things. Don't know what to do about brochures though as I dont really want to give out all my current ones and am reluctant to give out previous campaign ones too as I use them to canvass. What do you think about putting out old ones for people to take, with a note saying, if you like what you see contact me for a current brochure? Do you think this would lose a few potential customers if it's not current?Everyone loves a bargain :beer:0 -
Arrgghh Just had a reply back from my ASM. Apperently my name is not down for my road even though she allocated it to me nearly 2 years ago when I moved here. However my name is down for a road I have said I wouldn't do as the estate it is on is quite 'rough'.:mad::mad:0

Im not sure about books... I have 30 books for the campaign that i'll be on and only 10 customers so will have a few I can use. The organisers have no idea how many people are coming to the fayre which makes it harder to plan really.
Are you on FB? not sure if I added you to my Avon page, we could come up with some ideas together if you want? x0
