Is your heating ON or OFF?

My house is being weird lately. It's a new build and never been the warmest house, the fence panels are rattling in the wind but it's nice and toasty inside at the minute with the heating off.0

we tend to run hotter in our family than many people I know - I'm uncomfortably warm at an ambient temp 19-20 degrees, today my body heating system has gone haywire, it's 16 degrees inside, no heating and I'm too warm - I guess crazy hormones have their uses!:AA/give up smoking (done)0

I was just comparing usage of gas over the last two years. In the first year I had the heating on low most of the time, last year I just put it on as needed as I was trying to use less.
I used about 20 killowats a day more trying to be careful with it, so this year it's on low more often. I will let y'all know how it worked out 12 months from now. Sounds crazy doesn't it?0 -
It's nice and warm inside, at 65.3f, (despite no heating on), but blowing a gale outside.0

Dunno how it's so warm in your houses. It was 13C last night before I went to bed.Title of thread, is your heating on or off - never been off for the 7 years I've been here - hate being cold, to me its the worst thing possible, I'd rather starve - but that does not mean I'm burning lots of fuel, the thermostats control the heat - also we get a lot of frost here, have had to defrost the car last month and this morning.
What's your annual bill like then? I hear it's smarter to keep the thing running all the time like you do but I can't believe it. I understand the logic behind it but it sounds like witchcraft to me.
I prefer to have it off until I can't bear it any longer. I ought to rephrase that, actually. :rotfl:0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::T Haha,. that made me laugh
Heating was on for about 5 mins this morning. My house is so small that it heats up very quickly!
Off again now though.0 -
Had our heating on last night but I was actually a bit too warm
today it's off again and I've got windows open.0 -
I almost caved and put it on last night... I was doing some work at the computer and feeling positively chilly. But I put my mind to the task at hand, and it passed.
Trying my hardest to keep it off until November if I possibly can. My mid-floor flat, with only 2 sides exposed to the elements does stay warm pretty well, so hopefully I'll be able to do it.Because it's fun to have money!

Log burner on last night cos even the cats were complaining! Will put it on again today but I am burning old statements/bills/documents and such like. Central heating wont be going on - only a pair of socks as feet are beginning to feel it!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Mine is still off, I have told everyone if they are cold to put an extra jumper on or go to bed early, I will not be putting mine on until the temperature drops to zero or less.
We have a bio-ethanol stove and will use that before we put the heating on. I will be so glad when my woodburner is fitted, we are waiting for building regs people to get their fingers out at the momentBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
