Put mine on today, its really cold here. I also got the letter today from my supplier saying the gas and electric is going up.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0

On today for a few hours.
Was on last night for a few hours too.
It'll probably continue to be on for a few hours a day now until the weather is regularly below 10°C, then I'll set it up for three hours in the morning, four hours in the evening. I don't have it on in the day.0 -
Heating still off here.
46f (7.8C) outside, but a pleasant 65.5f (18.6C) in the living room.0 -
I put it on when we got home from work.
It has been raining hard all day, the wind is from the east and it's blooming cold.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Cannot possibly look through all of this thread (have picked it up on odd occasions over time)
I know it is not helpful for many, but for those who might consider it: we now have excellent insulation & individual room thermostats. I didn't actually switch my heating OFF last summer - just relied on thermostats to go on & off as needed. They are just clicking in now. With such good insulation I have been able to keep the main rooms at 18 degrees (unused at 10 and occasional at 15, then turned up as needed).
I can't really compare bills as circumstances have changed a few times in the last few years, but will compare our new bills to the average.0 -
Title of thread, is your heating on or off - never been off for the 7 years I've been here - hate being cold, to me its the worst thing possible, I'd rather starve - but that does not mean I'm burning lots of fuel, the thermostats control the heat - also we get a lot of frost here, have had to defrost the car last month and this morning.0
