Is your heating ON or OFF?

Much colder today, and it's more noticable too! But it's nothing a few layers of clothes won't put right.
The heating isn't going on this early, even if it was nearly freezing during the night.0 -
There is a nip in the air this morning but I've all the windows and doors open, a big cosy jumper on and getting my jobs done....nothing like the fresh early autumn to air the house out beautifully
Can tell it's getting cold because my fish were nowhere to be seen when I fed them this morning. They have been greedy as anything all summer but as soon as it turns colder they start to slow down. Eventually the orange ones popped up for one or two bites each but the black ones were nowhere to be seen. Preparing myself for another winter of thinking they've been eaten by a heron because they hide down at the bottom of the pond and I don't see them for months!0 -
I stuck ours on for an hour last night, both myself and OH thought it was cold and it felt like the house needed the walls heating up if you know what I mean? It's colder outside today but the house feels warmer so that hour last night seemed to do the trick.Dum Spiro Spero0

Mines on since yesterday for a couple of hours in the evening. I tried to resist, but felt really cold.
I think it's because the office I work in is far to hot always! So relatively normal temps are making me feel chilly.Well Behaved women seldom make history

No heating on here yet hopefully we'll manage without at least for the rest of this month, it was a bit nippy in the shower this AM but as hubby has his in the evening he hasn't commented on it yet, I'm a bit hardier than him lol... I have a slanket on standby in the evening but haven't needed it so far..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Not putting mine on yet, have tested it a couple of weeks ago to see if it still worked and all was OK. Have been following the preparing for winter thread, so curtains lined, some windows bubbled wrapped and other heat retaining things now in place, so hopefully I will be OK for a bit longer

Thankfully haven't had to put mine on yet. Last year we were living in a very old terraced house and it was terrible, we'd had the heating on for a long time by now this time last year. This year we've moved into an apartment that was only built a few years ago, so I'm hoping it will be insulated enough not to need the heating, that and perhaps people in the apartments around us might put their's on and perhaps we'll benefit from that a bit
Our kitchen also opens onto the living room, so any cooking heats the place up nicely and we have a separate gas heater, so at the worst, hoping just to have to use that.0 -
Ours is off. The house is insulated with double glazed windows and it's very mild at the moment. Dreading when I have to put it on though, our gas central heating costs a bomb and we're in rented accommodation so no choice to change to a lovely log burner either.0

I put ours on for 30 minutes very early this morning, and have just put it on again for 30 minutes. Normally I'd put it on and forget about it till bedtime, but with energy prices the way they are, I'm being canny. Once dinner is done, we'll snuggle on the sofa under a duvet for the evening, and I might take a hot water bottle to bed tonight. It's definitely time to sort out a nightshirt and close the window at nights now - normally I last till well into October. The only heating we have in the bathroom is a towel rail, and in past years I've put it on in October and turned it off in April because it does little more than take the merest edge off the chill, but I may see if we can fit a timer on it; it doesn't need to be on really except mornings for an hour or so (even I can cope with a freezing loo in the middle of the night)."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
