Is your heating ON or OFF?

  • It is quite nippy here this evening, and husband and kids were in jumpers and slippers and still cold. DH wanted to put the heating on. I made a small fire in the stove, and the room warmed quickly. It only took a few small pieces of pallet wood. But I can see where this is going...I am finding my heatingpolice hat...
  • The kids were complaining of being cold last night so I put a big faux fur throw on top of each of their beds. No way is the heating going on in September!
  • No way is it going on here either till November at the earliest! Actually, there has been no need to think about it yet as any chilliness has been sorted by just putting on a thick cardi. I am sure it will be a different story when we nip over to our caravan later today for a few days - those thin walls don't keep out the cold and I fear the heater will be straight on!! (note to self - remember to pack crocheted blanket to throw over duvet at night! I made this up years and years ago using all my wool leftovers crocheted into squares and it has been so useful over the years)

  • No heating here yet - not even lit the fire yet in the evenings. I can see that happening this month, though, although the central heating won't be going on until at least half-term (end October).

Was tempted to light a fire last night here but managed without by putting on a cardi!

I'm staying with my dad in north London and on Thurs and Fri he put the heating on! He recently replaced the carpets with laminate so that might be why the house feels colder and draftier.

Too early to put heating on - snuggled under a fleecy blanket just as good for now :)

I have hauled the PJs and dressing gowns out the cupboard as the though of heating on in September horrifies me.
