good lord, bitterand twisted I do hope that you weren`t assuming that my post was refering to lostinrates. It was a general post after I skimmed through the thread and saw so many seeing 12 degrees as good. My mil was that kind of martyr and it didn`t eventually do her health any good at all and this thread is read by many people of all ages
I have every empathy with what you are going through lostinrates and I am sure that many of us would help if we lived near enough
I appreciate the kind words, thank you. I don't feel, apart from on the odd day, that i am going through anything horrendous. Its been a mild winter in the main, and i have choice that humdreds, if not thousands, do not. That i chose differently to how others would is really my own look out. I would rather spend money on decent food, or my sister, or towards. Saving for decent heating in the future, than on more expensive and insuffiecient heat.
I am aware today that my moaning has caused dischord here, and it has done before. I don't want people to worry about me, i am an adult with chce many do not have. Nor do i want to cause dischord. Thus, i will not be poosting in this thread again i don't think. I am not going off in a huff and will see all of you on other threads!:)0 -

For those who qualify for Cold Weather Payments you can see if the DWP have triggered a payment. I've just checked our postcode because it's been freezing for days now and I see we've triggered one, it may be worth checking:

Wet and rainy here and it feels very cold so I've just stuck the central heating on, it's timed to come on for an hour about 3.30pm but the house feels cold so I've stuck it on now. I didn't have it on this morning because OH was at hospital for his dialysis but he's home now and I don't want to risk him getting any cold related illnesses.
I never have the heating on when I'm home by myself because of the cost, I don't have health problems and I use the time when OH isn't here to do the housework so I'm normally warm enough pottering around. I'd much rather keep the heating for when OH is home, mind you he's snuggled up in bed with the flannelette sheets having a nap at the moment so he's nice and warm, I'm the one who is feeling the cold.Dum Spiro Spero0 -

Cold weather payment triggered for my area!0 -
Mine is on all day just turned down to 15 to keep the house warm and to stop my dogs getting cold.
I am afraid when I am home its up to about 21ish. I refuse point blank to be cold after living in a house with only coal fires for 6 years.
Mind you we came out last year with £186 credit on the gas and it's been in much less than last year.
On a chilly night though I do bring a fleece blanket down and my dogs have fleece jumpers too (to warm them up after swimming mostly)Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising
Lloyds loan - gone forever! :T
Bank of Mum and Dad gone forever!
Emergency Fund £1500 :T0 -

Dont be afraid to tell us you have your heating on..!, we all have what we want in life, you choose to have your heating on, rather than live perishing cold, im like you im at home quite a lot and I also want a warm comfortable to to live in, we pay for the heating so its up to the individual how they want to live, heating as always been my top priority , im so god dam miserable if im cold....!. Its really turned frosty out there right now and we should have a -7 tonight.:eek:Now if people dont put their heating on at those temps then they never will........0 -
