  • I have been frozen all day and the heating has been on since first thing this morning. I have got out my Grannie's old stone hot water bottle and am going to snuggle up with that.

It started snowing here at about 4pm and we now have about 3 inches. I left the heating on low all day so that when we got back just had to give it a boost. Plus I had washing on the radiators too.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
  • Today has felt bitterly cold and I found it hard to keep warm, but I am now cosy and warm with the heating on, some candles lit and snuggled up under a fleece. I feel oddly content, something to do with appreciating something as unassuming as central heating.

  • Thanks re electric underblanket, ordered one form EARLY mother's day from my daughter ;)

The problem is that the one I have found has dual controls which means it nees to be plugged in to 2 sockets (one for each) and I already have everything on extension cords in my bedroom.. would prefer one with a single control for the whole one - a double not a single size. Double size but with single control.

    Anyone can recommend one?

The one I have found got over 200 five star reviews....but that dual control.. hmmmm

Can't recommend one, but have to say ours is the dual control one and it is amazing. My side is cranked up to roasting and my OH's side is always off.
So I get into a lovely warm bed :T He doesn't feel the cold  whereas I do.

That is a really nice sentiment. :)

I really think appreciate the little things so many of us take for normal stops us wanting too much more. We are so lucky to consider heating so totally normal in our time and place :)
  • Its icy, we now have snow on top of ice, the wind is bitter. Heating is well and truly on tonight.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr but am going round house blocking all gaps. our windows are 35 year old everest and past their best :-( many have lost a crucial piece of plastic the handles locks over to keep window tight shut. I have just discovered the left over felts I bought from B&Q to stick on bottoms of kitchen chairs to stop them scratching floor are perfect. They cut to same size as plastic rectangle, stick firmly and really keep those windows tight. The bathroom (which was a wee bit draft) is toasty despite heating now being off for an hour. Hooray :D

Just about to go outside for the last time today...check the animals have enough food for the night and are ok Inside will feel toasty again after that.

Noticed today thT even skimping on the woodburner as its so hungry we have been using a lot of wood. Too much for the out put. An eco fan would probably improve things till the fire is reinstated...i am sure it put out more heat last year though. Sigh.

Keep warm tongiht people. Keep safe.
