Does anyoe know how much does it cost (more less) to use an electric underblanket? The one you put under the sheet on the bed?0

I dont think it costs much at all - cert a lot less than a fire, and keeps you jsut as warm. We have heavy snow and gusty winds here now, am sat so close to the fire that I'm starting to singe0

I have to confess, my heating has been on all day since it got really cold .
I tried not to put it on, but i got defeated.
I have a stinking cold and a chest infection and feel terrible..couldn't cope with feeling ill at the same time as being cold.:(“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,

17 degrees here.
Storage heater must have an intermittent fault as it's now ok and I've managed to go overnight with it on so throwing out some heat at last. Got the new fan heater on but I don't leave it on permanently as plug gets a bit hot.. even had the panel heater in the bedroom on yesterday as I was sorting through the whole wardrobe and trying on clothes to Ebay. Can't really afford all this heating but it's just far too cold this week!!
Just went to feed the birds on the allotment and their water was inches thick and had trouble smashing it, don't think it will last long before the bit under the smashed ice freezes up again. Snow due tonight though temps look higher the next few days.
Did anyone see the report on the news last night, think it was BBC News 24, they had a whole Asian family with no heating and they showed them all getting into one bed to try and keep warm - but the mattress looked grubby and like it had no sheet on it, there was just 1 thin ish looking quilt and the old woman had bare legs and no socks - people really don't help themselves!0 -
I think its warmer here than it has been over the last few days. There was no frost or ice this morning, for the first time in a few days either.
So the heating has been turned down to 17. I keep thinking about turning it off for the rest of the day, but i dont think i am that brave
I have been keeping the doors from the lounge to the kitchen closed, to stop the heat escaping so maybe thats whats making a difference?
Do you all keep an eye on how many units you use, by reading your meter on a daily/weekly basis? I want to keep a closer eye on how much i am using and was wondering if this is the way to go?0 -
Off, although we’ve got the wood fire burning, as it has for the last few weeks, which is making use of the trees that came out of my mothers’ garden!
It’s heating a 5 bed house reasonably well (don’t know how), so I’m cool with this!
Although with the snow on the way, it may be on tonight!💙💛 💔0 -
Thanks re electric underblanket, ordered one form EARLY mother's day from my daughter
The problem is that the one I have found has dual controls which means it nees to be plugged in to 2 sockets (one for each) and I already have everything on extension cords in my bedroom.. would prefer one with a single control for the whole one - a double not a single size. Double size but with single control.
Anyone can recommend one?
The one I have found got over 200 five star reviews....but that dual control.. hmmmm0
