my heating is on, the doors are shut, draught excluders on doors, reflective backing on radiators, but it is still really cold! The heat doesn't seem to make its way from the radiator into the room. :-( Its an old terrace so what can I do?0

Ask your neighbours to turn theirs up, lol.
I loved being in a terrace house as we got so much heat from either side we rarely needed our heating on.
Not quite how to solve your problem though.0 -

In my room - cats on the bed, dog on the floor by the bed. She does not like the bed, too warm for her. But she breaths (and farts) and that helps to keep the air warm
My lot follow me as well ,the two little ones sleep with me the bigger lab dog likes to sleep in her basket, tiny dog and little dog always start off at the bottom of the bed on my dressing gown as it gets colder in the night i feel tiny dog creeping under the covers with me if she can't get in she pulls my hair to wake me up,small dog dosn't like it inside so lies against my back, keeps me warm.Heat off at the moment it was on earlier it was so cold i needed to warm the place up especailly for having a shower.0 -

The woman above me does not have C/H at all, gas fire in her living room only - she likes it that way.
The man below me is never in so I doubt his heating is on.
On one side - outside. Both my bedrooms have 2 outside walls, one each with a window and one each to the side of the block.
Living room and kitchen - staircase with no heating next door.

My heating is off now. It is set low and will come on for 30min in the night so hopefully the little lady (16mth) won't be too cold, but she is in a 2.5tog grobag too. The little man (3yo) is never cold, quite a sweaty Betty, and I currently use him as my hot water bottle. Saves on water and having to get up to refill. But he does wriggle quite a bit.
Have been meaning to persuade him back to his own bedroom, but may just wait till this cold spell is over...
When we are home all day the heating is on but about 16 or 17. And we wear layers. Whenever my mum arrives she heads straight for the thermostat...Bossymoo

It's crept back to 10 again so that must be a combination of me breathing plus the computer being on or, more likely, both my neighbours have their heating on the Sahara setting.
Even though i've got double glazing there have been days i've left the curtains closed all day to try and keep the cold out.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

My new next door neighbour had his CH on constantly thoughout the mild period. I think it is his first house. He is going to get a shock when he gets his bill!
I'm retired and at home more, so heating is a problem. I'm experimenting with just keeping the solid fuel stove ticking over - the gas CH hardly gets any use. I don't think it's cheaper as the fuel is so expensive but at least the house feels toasty warm when I get up in the morning.:T0 -
I went into a friends house the other day and it was like a sauna. Way too hot for me. They either have shares or are fiddling the meter, lol.0

Definitely on as my joints won't work properly if its cold and being the wrong side of 65 its dangerous to get too cold.I overpay a bit during the summer so I never worry too much about the heating .If my joints seize up I will only end up in hospital so I like to keep my house at a steady 19-21c if I can.0

We had to leave the heating on low overnight because the pipe from the oil tank into the house freezes if temperatures get below about -4. House is very warm now, too warm actually. Our local weather station recorded -7 at 8am and it certainly feels like that out there!
We managed from 8am to 7pm yesterday without the heating on. Cranked up the stove though and DS and I did some baking so had the oven on! Hoping that its not going to be so cold tonight, worrying about using too much heating oil.0
