I think its warmer here than it has been over the last few days. There was no frost or ice this morning, for the first time in a few days either.
So the heating has been turned down to 17. I keep thinking about turning it off for the rest of the day, but i dont think i am that brave :)

I have been keeping the doors from the lounge to the kitchen closed, to stop the heat escaping so maybe thats whats making a difference?

Do you all keep an eye on how many units you use, by reading your meter on a daily/weekly basis? I want to keep a closer eye on how much i am using and was wondering if this is the way to go?

I use Imeasure you put your readinding in every monday,i have been useing it for over 12mnths and i am useing less than last year ,its really usefull

Snowing here, and our ruddy loo has frozen. No wayu to heat this even when the heating is on as its outside. The thing is the bowl wasnot frozen but everything backed up. :(

Otoh, we justpicked up some rescue hens. They are bald. Bald, and brave. They have a heat lamp and are eating and settling in. If they can cope, we can.

We do have one upstairs too, but its a pita for me on a low mobiltiy day. In fact, dh has thawed the outside one now.....just ran a hot tap for a while.... We needed to sort the outflow, because that really would be a problem for everything.

That happened to us one winter at minus 18 and my son went outside with some firelighters and sticks and set a wee fire next to the pipe where it comes out through the wall - it worked !

Rofl. Hopefully we have solved ours now. We lost it last year for a while. By next winter we might have a proper indoor downstairs loo.:j

Yes, I do daily. And I write it down. I know exactly how many units of gas I've used since the last meter-reading.

My goodness it was cold out this afternoon! That wind felt like sharp knives.

It's snowing now, odd, tiny little flakes. Probably ice crystals.

The heating is on, it's 14 degrees in here and I've got about 20 tea-lights lit. It looks quite festive.

I nearly froze my t1ts off today out and about! Soo cold, then it started snowing and it's in full swing now. Result: heating well and truly on.
