Is your heating ON or OFF?

Heating finally ON! I had to give in as my sourdough starter wasn't bubbling, more like shivering
Just glad we've got a boiler this winter, last winter we went without, brrrrrr!

I've reached the stage where I'm having the ch on by the timer ie 7.30 til 9.00 and then 4.00 til 10.30. I work 'nights' and so I am out 3 or 4 nights a week. I then set my ch at 10C,whilst I am out, in order to avoid any burst pipes.0

Our heating has been on since mid November. I hate the cold. It comes on from 6.00am - 7.30am in the morning, 4.30 - 5.30 in the evening and then 7.30 - 9.00.Never look down on anyone unless you are bending to help them up.....0

I have put the heating on for a hour first thing this morning ,it was so cold it had to go on.Hopefully it won't be every morning now,it's the first time this year so not doing to bad.The problem is it was so nice this morning I wish I could afford to have it on more.0

Yes, me too mrsr. It was 11 degrees when I got up earlier and now it's 12. I have a nice, warm fleece on so it doesn't feel that cold. I will put the heating on for an hour or so later as I have to bathe and wash my hair before I go out for the evening. I am NOT getting completely stripped off and taking a bath in these temps. I might be a bit Spartan but I do not have a suicide wish.0

A bath is easy in low temps, you get it nice and hot, then when you come out you don't feel the low temperature.
A shower is worse, because unless it's a huge deluge shower, it never warms you up enough.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Mine is most definitely on in short bursts in the mornings and evenings. I left the house at 9.30am this morning to pop out and it was -2 degrees outside.0

I agree with you there. Although it often feels warmer in the evening when I can have the fire on afterwards.
Still off at the moment. Starting to doubt we will last another 2 weeks (when my Mam arrives for a month) though before turning ours on, frost on the grass outside today, feels significantly colder today than even yesterday and that was cold.
Wii and tea keeps me warm at the moment.
Where do I get a cheap but decent thermometer from? We used to have one of the ones like strips that changed colour but dont know what happend to them. It feels colder in the bungalow than outside until I go out and come back indoors again!
:snow_laug:snow_grinFailure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
