    I've been Money Tipped!
Over the last few days I've found that I'm fine at 15 degrees. I coped with 13 the other evening but was cold so anything lower than this I'm putting the heating on. However, it goes off before bed as I hate a warm bedroom and can cope with the cold when asleep with my duvet.

    I'm fine at thirteen :)

Its different what I cope with in iffernt parts of the house. Have to admit I find the freezing lino in the bathroom unpleasant atm, and the sitting room is warmer than the kitchen which has been between 6 and nine this week. :o I find I'm not longering there much, lol. When it has its deep clean next I will be putting an electric heater on i there 20 mins before I go in :D

It's the living room where I feel the cold the most, single glazed sash windows, old fire places and the knocked through wall to the dining room and more draught. I don't think it ever feels warm. My kitchen (another cold sash bay) and bathroom have no radiators and I'm fine in these though.

I have single glazed sashes too, but thankfully, wonderful shutters: I feel the diference as soon as I close these in the afternoon. I keep both doors in/out pushed to, just enough room for a cat, and our fireplace is sealed br the flue for woodburner, so thats not draughty.

I asked our architect aboutbthe draught from the open fireplaces we are reinstating and he's assured me we can hav them draught proofed when not in use...a sort of metal hatch that opens and closes!

I keep a blanket and an electric blanket on the siting room sofa and been ok since mondy without the woodburner. I ouldn't pretend its tropicl though, lol.

I leave the bathroom window open, because there is no ventialtion there otherwise. And its rudder bitter as a result. :o Hate it. Its worse bfore bd thn in the morning I think.

I'm now going to try to decrease the electricity so I have a lovely green graph too!

i've got a 5ft tropical fish tank running two heaters and two filters, a 40inch gecko viv being heated by a 100watt ceramic bulb, a snake being heated by a heat mat, two laptops, two big plasmas and two freezers...
electricity and fuel (petrol and LPG) are the two things i've no chance of decreasing.

My condensatio is back with a vengence this morning! serves me right for questioning it lol.

Planning to light the woodburner this afternoon to get some warmth in th house for dh coming back home. I thought about turning on a heater in the bedroom to make doing some tidying up there in cmfort, but the window has swollen and won't shut so seems a bit of wste of time putting heater on, lol
  • Sun out here so have put washing out on airers in back yard to get some of the dampness off them. Have our heating on first thing in morning for 2 hours and then late afternoon for an hour or so before we light the woodburner for evening. Keeping a log of gas useage to see what difference using the woodburner in place of evening heating makes.
However, OH works half day today only and bet anything that when he walks in out of his warm car he will say how cold the house feels and want to put heating on early!! As for me , I have been doing washing and cleaning this morning so warm as toast and will put on another jumper if/when I feel a bit chilly.

Mines still on and will be staying on!

The temperature outside has not got above 1 degree all day and the freezing wind and sleet is horrible, woofaloes are all comfy on their beds so i`m happy. Little old doggie has been struggling on his pins a bit today so i know that his arthritis is bothering him.

Had a bit of a tentative walk this morning as all the paths were covered in black ice, the sleet is freezing on top of this in some areas so will be very treacherous underfoot later.

The inside temp is 18 which is just right, i`m closing my curtains earlier everyday now to keep the heat in - it won`t be worth opening them much if the weather stays like this lol

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
