Is your heating ON or OFF?

Sorry to read your news, mrsr. I think many people will be so glad it has been mild and the heating has been off much more than last year, and has allowed money to be saved.
I have a rule that the heating goes on when the temp outside gets to 4C or less, to guard against frozen pipes and to keep the house warm enough, and I've just noticed it's 2C outside, so my heating is now on for the rest of the evening. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Very frosty this morning - I think the heating is well and truly on for the purpose of morning showers at least, though I'm still trying to keep it off during the day/evening.February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500

Last night was quite strange, i was considering sticking the heating on for a bit as it was getting cold in the lounge.. but then one of the dogs wanted to go out to bark at something that didn't exist.
After opening the door the house got warmer, so I think i actually let the cold air out instead of in.
This morning wasn't exactly cold at around 6am when I hit the shower.0 -

We have been making the most of the milder weather so far this winter and have been making a real effort not to put the central heating on. I should say that we havent managed to go without heating altogether but have been using the log burner and one electric heater as needed.
What has surprised me is that we all seem to be getting used to the temperature in the house being a bit cooler - even the kids! When I did put the heating on for a couple of hours last night (partly because we had visitors) the house seemed really warm and we were all taking layers off, even though it was frosty outside.
Anyone else found this? I will be really pleased if we can keep going.0 -
