Hi yours truly checking in to report that the Lakeland 3 Tier Heated Dryer is still going strong and not a single radiator has been switched on and oven when used unfortunately daily (is now broken so I try to use slow cooker and microwave to cook everything).

Good to know we are not alone. We got a lakeland heated dryer to help get the clothes dry quicker. However we have found that with it on in the living room it keeps the room warm enough to save putting on the central heating for now.:T:T

I`ve turned mine up a notch to keep it at a steady 18 degrees inside today, its 3 degrees outside and the wind is amazing

This morning outside was one degree and everything was frozen solid, thanks to whoever posted the tip about the hot water bottle for the car, i popped one wrapped in a towel on the dashboard at 4am and by half past i had a lovely thawed out patch and i only had to scrape the edges:j

Mrsr - sorry to hear your news, hope that things start to look up for you soon! Almost happened to me earlier in the year and i think that its looming on the horizon yet again.

    Keep warm peeps!

Well and truly on tonight. Not very high (it never is) but with a fleece and socks on it's quite adequate. Just done the washing up and that warmed me up. Now with a steaming cuppa I'm definitely toasty. :D
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Thankyou sunnyday, hope you don't get any bad news.

My heat is still off but i am feeling cold tonight ,there's a bitter wind blowing. My toes are freezing going to put them on a hot water bottle in a minute.
  • My heating has been on all day today for the first time.

I have downstairs set at 17 and upstairs at 19 degrees. I have to set upstairs higher because the thermostat is on the landing, and with heat rising from downstairs, the landing is warmer than my bedroom, especially as I keep my bedroom doors shut to prevent my dog getting on the beds. I have the radiators upstairs in all but my bedroom switched off anyway.

I would love to turn the thermostats up but I don't freeze at those temps and can wear several layers of clothes.

Had my heating on about 3 times so far this season and that was only because my boyfriend was staying and was moaning. I made him leave a fleece here to wear whist in the house instead of just a t-shirt like he does at his house. The thermometer in the living room says 14 degrees and I feel comfortable. I find if I have the heating on less then i suffer less with colds over the winter. Don't know if there's a connection or not.
  • I haven't had the heating on today. Weather forecast said 12C in the evening and it was right, it has gotten milder. I put it on yesterday for an hour in the evening. Other than that its on for 30 mins every morning, using a timer, started a few weeks ago.
