Is your heating ON or OFF?

Sorry if I've already asked and/or missed the reply, but in terms of looking after the building, what's a sensible minimum temp to try and keep the house at?
I've googled but only come up with people going on holiday - so obviously not cooking, showering, etc."She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"
I'm a fool quite often0 -
Cool tonight but not bitterly cold. I don't fancy lighting the wood burner so I'm snuggled up with the cats on the sofa o an electric blanket and under a blanket, its really nice and snuggly.0

First time posting here so hi all! It's 13oC in the house and I really want the heating on but am resisting! Sat here in a hat and fleece.
We rent our house - last autumn the landlords had loft insulation put in, the house was reroofed and the cavity walls filled which has made a difference. Shame they didn't change the single-glazed plate glass windows though which are also badly fitted!
We have open fires and have managed to collect some wood for free so when we can we have fires but going out later and so there is no point lighting one tonight.
We salvaged all the lengths of battoning they took out the roof and have been using it as kindling to light our fire - the joke goes that the roof has kept us warmer since they removed it than when it was on the house...0 -
Weve had a lovely blue sky sunshine today with a little wind, beautiful drying day, so that has kept the dryer off .........Had the heating on for 2 hours this morning and again at 4 o clock for couple hours............................Well its December 1 st tomorow and I think a lot of people have got to this date without it costing too much for heating so far this year...........:T0

Its amazing isn't it? I feel pretty astounded at this years weather. Hopefully it won't drag on later when we should have spring to make up for this mildness!0 -
Still off! I'm so happy I made it to the magic Dec 1 (it certainly won't be on tonight). I'm now considering extending my new Dec 3 goal of when the meter needs to be read for the last quarter and making it Dec 24th instead.0

Ours is now fully in use - 1 and a half hrs in the morning, and the same at night.
Bitterly cold here. Icy wind.

I don't know if anyone would class this as cheating but I do have a dehumidifier on in my bedroom overnight (single glazed bay window and extra window that get terrible condensation) but it does seem to increase the temperature by a couple of degrees.0

Still off, terrible system anyway..... OH has to wear shorts all year round (due to bad leg injury) and even he says it'd not too bad yet - even though we are only 10 mins from Scotland.
Must be getting tough in our old age !!:rotfl::rotfl:Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm...As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.;)0
