Put the heating on half an hour ago, it's very cold here, and thank goodness I did, the boiler is making a racket, must get it serviced, just my luck it would have packed up on Christmas Eve!0

Hi yours truly checking in to report that the Lakeland 3 Tier Heated Dryer is still going strong and not a single radiator has been switched on and oven when used unfortunately daily (is now broken so I try to use slow cooker and microwave to cook everything).#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

So far we've not had our heating on at all, as I was determined to hold out until at least December, and we've just been wearing extra layers and snuggling under a blanket at night. I will be setting it to come on for an hour or so first thing in the morning from tomorrow as it's freezing then, and OH is having to get up a lot earlier at the moment to catch a bus to work (as his car was recently written off in an accident), will only have the radiators on in our room, the bathroom and maybe the lounge. A couple of weeks ago I finally used a roll of insulation, which you put behind the radiators to reflect the heat back into the room (got it from a car boot sale for about 50p 10 years ago, but never got around to using it, lol!), so will see if it makes any difference to how long we need the rads on for.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Our heating is on, but only on very cold evenings! The rest of the time we just wear layers and I have a hot water bottle permanently attached to my tummy... Our rented house is so big it takes hours to heat up, so its hardly worth it.0

Heating has been on for a couple of hours morning and evening. Went to turn bedroom radiator off this morning and water started to come out. So the guy is coming next week to have a look. Usually its left on but for some reason I decided to turn it off. Hope its just a washer that needs replacing.0

Hope it's nothing drastic boddy. Mine is on but just for an hour in the morning and two hours at night, heating and hot water. It's a very old and inefficient system so the radiators don't get very hot, but at least it takes the chill off the house. I'm not going to increase the temp or hours as I have every other year unless we have another very severe winter, when I have to leave it on low all the time for fear of the pipes freezing. As long as the temperature is above freezing I'm thinking of reducing the two hours to one in the evenings as well.
I'm using a halogen heater on low setting for when I'm sitting in the evenings, using hot water bottles and wrapping up in fleeces.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

You do know that you're completely daft, don't you and that you're wasting a good hour's worth of heating every day? I have never heard of a cat getting frost-bite while indoors in the UK. Turn it off and save your money.0

Off again today. We've been ummng and ahhing about getting a temporary boiler fitted but the expence would be huge for one winter and these bright days with the door open make me feel sure it would be a luxury not a necessity, and atm nothing spare for short term luxuries0

I've turned mine up to 17 during the day and 19 for a couple of hours in the evening. Both myself and hubby have arthritis and the damp certainly isn't helping.Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright0
